Hiya guys!

 

So yeah, been away from Skyrim for a while (pls forgive me!), but the call of the wild once again proved too strong to resist. Also, all the amazing stories popping up here recently (take the last 24hrs as an example!) have inspired me to try and make time for a new one myself.

 

Anywho, here is the first part of a new story starring my Skyrim counterpart Mai. If follows on from and references the events in this previous Mai adventure - however you are not required to have read that first. I just linked it here in case anyone is interested!

 

Finally, I may be a little rusty at this, so please be kind  :D

Dragonsreach. Early afternoon...

Mai: "Well....I'm here! Hmmm, I hope I'm not too early - wouldn't want to leave a bad impression on my first meeting with a Jarl! I wonder why the Jarl wants to see me anyway?!"

Mai: "I guess I'll find out very soon. This looks like the Jarl's Housecarl. Okay girl, remember - don't be nervous! You've fought vampires and bandits, you'll survive a meeting with the Jarl!"

Irileth: "My name is Irileth, Housecarl to Jarl Balgruuf the Greater. I'm so glad you could make it here at such short notice!"

Mai: "Nice to meet you, Irileth. I was so excited when I received the invitation from the Jarl himself - how could I refuse!"

Irileth: "Indeed. Ever since Jarl Balgruuf learned of how you stopped that vampire from reaching him, he's been looking for an opportunity to show his thanks personally. He's quite smitten with you!"

Mai: "Oh that was nothing really......and I had help too....."

Irileth: "Hmmm, if you don't mind me saying so you seem to be slighty....well....under-dressed! There are several gowns we could provide you with if you'd like to see them?"

Mai: "Oh....um....this is kinda what I wear! I hope it's okay.....?"

Irileth: "Really?! WOW! I'm sure the Jarl won't mind one bit - as long as you are okay with him gazing at your naked body! Anyway, if you'd care to follow me - the Jarl is waiting!"

Mai: "Pretty much. I gotta say, this place is amazing! The Jarl sure knows how to live..."

Mai: "I gotta admit - i'm really nervous! Do you know what the Jarl will say? Or what I should do? I don't want to make any mistakes or cause any offence!"

Irileth: "Hmmm, well I probably shouldn't be telling you this....but I overheard the Jarl talking about granting you some kind of title. If you ask me, I think he's going to make you a Thane!"

Irileth: "Anyway, the Jarl can tell you himself. Don't worry, girl. You'll be fine!"

Jarl Balgruuf: "Well, well, well - so this is the young lady who saved my life! Don't be shy - step up and let me have a closer look at you, Mai of the Companions!"

Mai: -gulp- "It's an honor to meet you in person your Jarlness.....I mean....Sir Balgruuf......I mean......JARL Balgruuf.........sir!

Full disclosure: this video is freaking terrible. The audio quality is atrocious and echo-y and overly loud, I had nothing in particular to talk about, so had to resort to babbling like a madman, and the gameplay is cringeworthy because I was getting about ten frames per second during the battle. Hell, I don't even know how to properly embed a video into a post here.

 

Still, this is just a test of my YouTubing capabilities, and at least a moderately successful one at that, and if you fine folks ever wanted to hear the melodious sound of my voice (albeit with shit quality), your dream is coming true. :lol:

 

For my unleashing this horror onto the web, I have Robton to thank - if he hadn't posted gameplay footage of his own, I probably wouldn't have bothered trying it myself. Oh, and thanks to Benmc for recommending Bandicam. :)

 

Nice! I didn't mind the "babbling" at all, made for some interesting commentary moments. Also, I literally said "what the...." out loud at the exact same moment you did in the vid when that body launched into the air   :lol:

 

By the way, what voice do you use for your character? I've been meaning to finally switch to a different player voice than the vanilla to one that didn't sound so... high pitch anime-ish like some of the ones out there. That one sounds like one I would want/like to try.

Bandicam seems to work pretty well. But, i don't think i can run it on my crappy 3 yo rig -rspecially with an ENB). plus, i don't want to inflige you my terrible voice :P.

The plan originally was to wait with commentary till i got my new microphone...


 


But after watching NeonFireFly's video i just couldn't wait anymore. So prepare yourself for my first mod showcase with Idun (let's hope Elania doesn't get furious again :/) with bad quality commentary by your's truly.


 


It's probably gonna be pretty bad since English isn't my native language :P

I like it. I see no reason to pull it down. I personally prefer spontaneous "babbling like a madman" to "something scripted".

 

I would personally recommend increasing your killmove chance with one of the many mods available. Makes for a more spectacular killing spree.

 

And keep up the good work. Here's some cheese for your trouble. :)

Robton: I'm sorry, I like you just as mush as i like her. But i chose randomly who I was gonna feature in the video, believe me it was not a easy choice.

 

Elania: Do you expect me to believe that? Do you wanna freeze to death?

Thanks, glad you are enjoying it. I use the Follower Commentary Overhaul to get the extra chatter from my followers. And yeah, I may have to do something about Brelyna's constant crave for sausages  :D

Oh, and @Brunock - I'm using Kunoichi Female Voice. Fits Fjora pretty well, since it manages to sound young and energetic without sounding overly cutesy or feminine. In fact, this voice almost sounds a bit like Laura Bailey... and as I think we can all agree, everyone can use more Laura Bailey in their lives. ;)

Here's some wip shots of my dremora/daedra girl. I haven't worked on her face gen yet and her skin textures really need work. This is just more about her eyes and getting the damn stars to look right.

Did you compress her face-normalmap or are the textures just generally low res? Because I see some pixelation on her chin and lips.

Great stuff again. Have to say that i kinda expected something like that would happen when she drank that potion, mainly because i had something similar planned up :P. Have to say i still prefer the look on the old Aela :D. Oh, and was the line "Oh, yes. 60% of the time, it works every time" homage to Anchorman or was that just coincidence? :P

Hiya guys!

 

So yeah, been away from Skyrim for a while (pls forgive me!), but the call of the wild once again proved too strong to resist. Also, all the amazing stories popping up here recently (take the last 24hrs as an example!) have inspired me to try and make time for a new one myself.

 

Anywho, here is the first part of a new story starring my Skyrim counterpart Mai. If follows on from and references the events in this previous Mai adventure - however you are not required to have read that first. I just linked it here in case anyone is interested!

 

Finally, I may be a little rusty at this, so please be kind  :D

Anchorman, yes! It was either that or a similar line from Naked Gun. I really must get around to seeing the new Anchorman. Not has a chance yet.

 

And yes, I'm undecided about Aela. Like I said before, while I think she's beautiful like this, she's not quite Aela to me. But it works for this little story.

Just bought a GTX750Ti . Can finally play skyrim on max settings  :cool:
