Your Opinion. D2 or D3 ?

Title says all.

I just want to know which game you prefer ? Diablo 2 or Diablo 3?

So my opinion.

Diablo 2 is in every way better than Diablo 3.

The complete game is better than D3!

Conclusion ^^

For Sure Diablo 2

Diablo 2. It's become obvious with the announcement of upcoming console ports of Diablo 3, that it was designed with consoles in mind from the start. It explains all the shortcomings that seem to plague it. I will remember fondly my days with Diablo 2, my *week* with Diablo 3 has been entirely forgettable. I regret getting it.

Never bought D3 because of always on DRM.

So better game is also for me D2.

D2 has until now the best atmosphere and story I experienced in a hack'n slay game.

(Beside of these i realy enjoyed titan quest but this is OT don't bother  )

I've never played Diablo 3, but at the same time, I've played Diablo 2 and I must say... not a fan, especially of the obscenely tiny inventory that requires going back to town every fifteen seconds if you're like me and cannot bring yourself to just not pick up everything.

That's why I'd rather play Torchlight 1 or 2.

I bought Diablo 3 at day 1.

It was fun at first but after beating the game me and my friends had time to think and yea....D3 is not so great.

1.Diablo himself is whiny and weak when mobs guarding him are more powerful than him lol

(Everybody who tried to beat Chapter 5 Fallen Angels on Nightmare or Inferno will understand.)

2.Death of Cain.

I mean come on Cain was iconic character in Diablo Universe.

He deserved at least cinematic death not "O hi I'm evil pixie " puf " mighty Cain is dead " and all on game engine WTF ! O.o

Cinematic at the end of the chapter with "Tyrael's Sacrifice " was just amazing but it was around Tyrael not Cain.

3.After Chapter 2 rest of them looked like they re-used Chapter 1,2 maps just it a bit diffrent order.

I haven't played D3. The always-on DRM, coupled with error 37 kept me far away at release time (I don't pre-order anything anymore), and after I saw the graphics, gameplay and discussions about end-game (and a few "Let's Plays") I decided I'm better off just playing D2.

*Ahem* back to topic: D2 is, in my opinion, far superior to D3 in every meaningful way I can imagine. Plot, loot system, no DRM, no auction house bull, more viable builds in the late-game, more meaningful bosses (if we have three prime evils in the world then they should give us three boss fights against them - not one), more skills you can use at once (which made it obvious to me they intended to compromise PC gameplay for consoles).

D2, because of the fact the PS3 version of D3 can be played offline hurts.

I can put up with the errors, the class nerfings and so on, but the always-on DRM makes me sad.

When I played Diablo 2 it was WAY after release. It's a great game and I loved it but I never played the online aspect of it. It was always single player for me. I had fun with it but it was limited. Diablo 3 I thought was a great game. It's not perfect by any means and in many ways is inferior to 2 (story not as good, boss loot disappointing, character sheet not nearly as deep). I would still say that I enjoyed Diablo 3 more though. I wasn't really bothered by the DRM like so many people seem to be. I can see why some would be but I think it gets blown way out of proportion sometimes. I would only be concerned about it playing a hardcore character and ya I can why people would be REALLY pissed at DRM then because one hiccup from the server and you are done. Either way I think Blizzard has learned from their mistakes because they have admitted that the RMAH and other choices they made were in hindsight not that smart, so maybe we will see some improvements, who knows. That's another thing, I enjoy the RMAH, I don't buy anything, but it's fun and exhilarating finding a nice item and making $20 from it for doing essentially nothing.

The problem with DRM, especially the always online stuff, is that should the servers go down, or the company goes out of business, those games you have are worthless; they become either useless data that you can do nothing with, or coasters.

So no, it's not blowing it out of proportion when you have something that will one day render something you paid money for to become useless after a certain period of time or event.

(sigh)....Blizzard did well by Diablo 2. The game was sound, albeit a few bothersome glitches fixed in many patches. It was fun, moddable, and really worth the money spent for many years of play. Here's one of the many sites I frequented for modding:

http://www.planetdiablo.com/

Activision/Blizzard, however, is another corporate clusterfuck, attempting to drag a claw through player's bank accounts via percentages from buying and selling items. The RMAH is just another way to leach money from their fans (instead of DLCs), and it did backfire on them in a few aspects:

http://www.incgamers.com/2013/03/should-the-diablo-3-auction-house-be-scrapped-its-hurt-the-game-after-all/

Now the DRM factor is actually a major pain in one aspect: WHEN you can play. If I want to travel and play, I'd better not lose any connection to my laptop, or else I cannot play. Period. I want 24/7 access if I buy a game. The corporate mindset involved didn't think far enough ahead to see the detrimental effects to ALL of their playerbase, and not just those who have internet. I know, personally,16 people that have given up on Diablo 3, saying that it was a waste of money, the game was rigged for AH, can't mod anything because of the DRM, etc....and these guys and gals were heavy Blizzard fans (some had even bitched mightily about the 'Sparkly Pony' fiasco in WoW, but continued playing WarCrack anyways).

I will always consider Diablo 2 the better game, at least in the Blizzard department. But right now, as Kyubey said, I'd rather play the Torchlight Series, one that I can play and mod ANY time I want to (see pic), and not deal with 'fans' selling virtual items (AKA pixels and code) to the sheep. I'm just waiting until some savvy hacker gets into the AH....boyo, the tears will fall and the hair will be pulled out in fistfuls....oh, the drama....

I honestly wasn't a fan of 2, though 3's pretty fun to play with buddies while drunk.  I've beaten the game on ALL skill levels, solo and coop, so yeah, I've played the shit out of it.  I have titan quest and the expansion, which I've considered picking up again, though.

On the plus side, should that ever happen, you can take comfort that pirates manage to crack just about every DRM there is in only a matter of hours. Another reason why most DRMs are terrible since they don't even do their intended job, you just end up punishing the people that bought everything legally.

I haven't played D3, although i've played D1 and D2, and from hearing and looking at pictures of D3...They've deviated far, far from what Diablo really was. Graphics technologies aside, you compare D3 to D1, and D3 could almost be confused for Warcraft. Just really a bad art direction from the start, should have got the dudes who did D1 and 2 ro at least tried to stick to the old style of what Diablo really was: A Dark, Gothic horror Hack 'n Slash game.

Now that graphics are out of the way, always online DRM is just a bad thing, which reminds me of Steam. Now don't get me wrong, i love Steam and i love the Gaben, but there were two times where my internet went out before i could even prepare for Offline mode and i was locked out of 80% of my games. Thankfully, i had Oblivion and various other older games to turn to.. Main point is, Always Online DRM ( AODRM ) is just a bad thing, as it can lock users of the product out because sometimes, you just can't be always online.

Gameplay? I haven't played D3, so i have no clue how close it is to the original, can't really say much in that department. I will say D2 and D1 were fun as fuck, and if you haven't played them, you really should, you've missed out.

And that's all i gotta say.

Well I think the problem with D3 is that it can get boring really quickly.

Also game can be frustrating because jump from Nightmare to Inferno is really significant, if you don't have proper gear even normal mobs will kill you in few hits.

So you have to either grind grind grind and farm gear or buy good gear for real $ which is annoying. I had to run with 1h shield + 1h xbow on my DH to be able to survive on inferno lol.

I'm a bit cloven actually, there are a lot of aspects that I both like and hate about both games, but I will say Diablo 2 for the simple reason that FUCK ERROR 37.(I would answer Torchlight 2 had that been an option, but oh well)
