Skyrim Spells Not Casting

last night when i was looking at the dawnguard dlc on creation kit, i didnt really change anything other then a couple relationships. but today when i went to play my character wont cast spells. they will switch to different spells and my hands will glow the colour of the spell that i should be casting, but when i try to cast it doesnt do anything. but when i equip a sword in that hand it swings just fine, i just cant cast. anyone have any ideas of what it could be? i changed back everything that i had done on kit also, loaded up old saves everything.
