ok so after some testing it seems to be working fine. I can bathe even when clean and the animation will play and if I save then load while bathing it does ctd/ not let me control my character if it does load but thats easily worked around. I just wont save it while I'm bathing. The check needs hotkey only seems to display anything when you have any needs. I was thinking it would be like most other needs mods and tell you what your needs are even if they require no attention. Thanks for your help guys. I'm really glad I could get this working I couldnt get the follower fix version to work though only 3.0alpha5 but its no biggy I use custom followers and AFT so it probably wouldnt have worked for followers anyway lol again thanks for the help it was greatly appreciated.

No, the follower fix also works for custom followers and follower frameworks shouldn't be an issue (I use EFF myself). Did you type setstage followerurinatequest 0 in the console? If so, Ask if your follower need to use the washroom while being in an interior or a major hold or city/town -> Search for a toilet (which you know has the keyword istoilet, the default ones which comes with Private Needs 3.0 alpha 5 do have this keyword), look further when "keep searching" pops up until "We have found a toilet" is displayed, say to your follower "There is a toilet here" and watch the magic happen.

what I actually meant by I couldnt get the follower fix to work was about the player character needs. it replaces the .esp from 3.0alpha5. I didnt even bother testing followers with the follower fix because I couldnt get the PC needs to work. I'll try getting it to work again if it works for custom followers and AFT as it would be a welcome feature. Just to clarify I should install strotis outhouse resources then 3.0alpha5 then the follower fix? then of course the normal run loot, fnis etc. or is that wrong? Also is that command just a general command or is it targeted? i.e do I need to click on the follower I want to have the dialogue options.

The follower fix is based on Private Needs 3.0 alpha 5 (I'm using this version right now), so it's normal that it replaces the esp from 3.0alpha5 (no worries here, it overwrites only the followerurinatequest). Yes, you need to install this after the normal Private Needs 3.0 alpha 5 and Stroti's Outhouse (ATTENTION : FOLLOWER FIX 3 has the default Private Needs 3.0 alpha 5 toilets deleted, I recommend using the IthliaOuthouse mod and the IthliaOuthouse Private Needs patch I've made), but you don't need to rerun LOOT or FNIS (because it doesn't add any new esp (LOOT) and no new animations or skeletons (FNIS)) The command is a dialogue option (like the 2.11 version which followerurinatequest didn't work perfectly). Also works great with the Stroti's Bathroom Private Needs mod

well after about two hours of testing my save got corrupted lol. Its fine though I never test mods on my main save. It could of been many things that caused it. too many plugins/mods, crappy PC or mod conflicts so I cant say that it was this mod that caused it. I was also testing other mods at the time so it could of been one of them. One thing I would suggest to the mod author is a more descriptive/accurate install tutorial. It was annoying getting this to work. I've given up on this mod for now but will be keeping an eye out for future updates

Oh, did you by chance have a failed bath and then save later without it crashing instantly? IIRC this happened to me, but I got immense stuttering afterward. Trying to reload the save, it was corrupted.

I didnt really get any stuttering but I did get a few lag spikes and it was taking like 30 seconds to a minute to save. Normally its almost instant. What do you mean by failed bath? like animation not playing, locked up controls, game crash etc. etc. I dont really remember anything like that happening but it could be what caused it. I do remember it kept notifying me that I was pretty clean though lol.

Well what I meant was did you try to bathe but get no animation/locked controls? Did you just walk off afterwards and just shrug it off? And yes, what you describe (lag spikes) is more along the lines of what I experienced after I successfully saved (no ctd) after such an event I just described.

 

I get around this by saving before I bathe and therefore if it fails I just exit skyrim and reload from that point. It is very infrequent after I turned off privacy for bathing so it isn't such a deal breaker for me.

 

It could of been related to some orphaned scripts that were lagging my papyrus that I've since cleaned out but I can't be 100% sure until I have a few hours playthrough. I've gotten my papyrus script lag down now to much healthier levels.

 

If you want to check your lag, use the feature in convenient horses. I also have another mod (professions by kuertee) that lets you run a one-check-per-click, rather than CH's running until you switch it back off in MCMs one.

Ok i have a new problem. The mod is working etc but i can'T find the MCM Menu anymore. The mod works just fine but the mcm just wont appear anymore. tried a new save and its the same there. I also tried the commands in the startpost but they don't do anything. 

 

Any ideas?

Have you tried repositioning the mod in your Load Order? IIRC someone had the same issue in this thread and that was the solution.

 

I had this happen in one of my save games so I have to try it out too (haven't played that character again since).

 

Although I had an added problem of bathing not working at all when that happened.

I been using the 2.11 version without any concerns for a while, I decided to try out the newest version & couple of things I have notice.

 

Firstly it loads fine, appears to be working fine, however...

Like someone else pointed out, the check needs hotkey doesn't works.

High auto notification spam "You are quite clean...etc..." every 5 minutes or so, wish that could be configurable so I change to 15 minutes.

The active effects....when my bladder if full, no bladder effects buffs/debuffs appear there.

Also, increased papyrus logs adding an extra 300kbs+ over the 2.11 version.

I just had a ctd when the bath option failed to kick in. As well as what I mentioned about not being able to save/load without CTD after that point, I have a CTD if I try to open the Private Needs MCM.

 

I am using the fixed alpha version.

There are eight files in the download section, some kind of explination would be nice.  I guessed and was using the 3.0Alpha but couldn't bathe so I switched to 3.0Alpha5 but that crashes my game on start.  I have no idea what file is the latest or if it requires any of the other files so I'll just have to uninstall this for the time being.

I think if we have Devious Devices we should use the PrivateNeedsDD file, otherwise just use the AlphaFixed file.

You can't bath in very shallow water or water where you start to swim. You don't need soap.

 

Does having soap add anything to the latest version of this mod?

Whatever you set in the Private Needs MCM menu. I don't remember what it is by default, so check there. You can change it too in the same place.

A quick question, is the whole MCM menu for this mod supposed to have $ on some of the options? Also, when I go into the water to bathe, it does nothing.

Everything on my computer is in English. I can't seem to find the wetting settings though. As for the bathing, yes, I am using the hotkey, yes I am in the water deep enough. I have the option to bathe when I use the hotkey, it's just that the character does nothing. It also shows on the effects list that the character is very filthy and that the hygiene is clean at the same time.
