Gloss effect for face GIMP tutorial

I had noticed a very nice tutorial on how to make a face glossy with Photoshop here on LL by Jerbsinator.

I use GIMP and did some searching and found a really good guide I thought I would share.

I did not write the guide, though I have used it and can verify it works

sorry for kidnapping this thread but after some playing around with normal maps this came up

skin looks more detailed ,maybe its a bit to exaggerated,more or less uve to decide.effect depends on light,camera distance and angle.

hope someone can use it . link below contains this map , screenshots + a younger look alpha with decent gloss - tested with zeuny and bloodelves,guess its working for other races aswell

For Some Strange Reason I Cant Create An Alpha Channel , I Can However Delete Them .

If you delete the existing alpha and can't create a new one via "Go to Layer>Transparency>Add Alpha Channel:" step from the guide, then you could try copying the face to a new file,(kind of like starting over) and follow the guide from the beginning.
