Ahh! I been meaning to get back into Oblivion, but I want to have an awesome modded experience. Thing is, with so many mods, I dunno where to start!

 

I seen some of the pictures you guys post and the damn game looks like Skyrim! So I would appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction for modding Oblivion into an amazing experience.

While it's not a Lovers mod, I am partial to Cyrodiil Rebuild - English Translation which breathes life into the game by adding NPCs who are just going about their daily lives.

 

The Crowded Roads and Crowded Cities  mods are good choices as well for this reason

You also need most of maskar's basic hygine, basic needs or his other basic for realism. it'll turn your game like the sims.2.

Then his music manager to upgrade oblivion music system into more episodic like skyrim, of course you will need to replace TES.4 OST with you favorite mp3.

Ok, to make it look like Skyrim Id say first, you need to work on environmental and graphic mods, taking care of the crappy quality of all things vanilla...

 

First a few of the utility mods for Oblivion I use: 

-OBSE

-OBGE

-MenuQue

-COBL

 

Then you need environmental changes

-OBGE Liquid Water

-Natural Environments

-Enhanced Vegetation

-Improved Trees and Flora

-Alive Waters

-Unique Landscapes

-Better Cities (these two are responsible for a lot)

-Animated Window Lighting System

-Cinematic Sunglare

-And finally, my latest favorite addition: Vibrant Weather

 

Next would come gameplay changes and races, but thats even more vague...

My races are all custom and my own mashups, but regarding gameplay, a few of the important things I have are:

-Unnecessary Violence II

-Mad Companionship Spells

-DarkUI

-Enhanced Hotkeys

-HUD Status Bars

-Loading Screens

 

You should also take care of the bodies, clothing and armor. Mod custom armors will come later, but we need to take care of the vanilla crappy meshes

-Universal Skeleton

-HGEC, BBB

-Robert's Male Bodies

-EVE (Or DMRA vanilla  conversions if you're into that...)

-Robert Stock Armor

 

NOW you can begin to think about a decent game and installing some custom mods like armor, race etc...

 

Thats what worked for me to make it better in terms of beautiful landscapes and images

But the other largest part of making pretty screenshots is mostly the use of photoshop... And of course... photographic talent

The EVE StockClothingArmor Replacer is not BBB (So totally outdated)

Use the VerySkimpyStockClothingArmorHGEC and BBB HGEC, the E Cup Version (the D Cup is only the old moving breast System).

I mentioned EVE cuz its THE ONLY replacer that sticks to the vanilla roots adapting everything to HGEC

I have my own collection of tweaked meshes sharing things from EVE, FLY collection by Yuravica and a lot of things from my own harvest, added BBB to all that need it

 

I mentioned it because it sticks to the roots but sure... its not BBB and its not skimpy nor DMRA

 

Skimpy and DMRA are the exact opposite of sticking to the roots... It will turn your game into a whorehouse 

But if thats what youre after, then thats exactly what you must get

Eve Stock is available in BBB form  - I use it myself. Then I overwrite it with More Revealing Standard Armors and BBB for More Revealing Standard Armors:

I prefer my NPCs to be attractive, yet not totally naked. With that combination I get a nice mix of sexy and lore friendly(-ish). I also prefer HGEC E-Cup, so YMMV

 

If you DO try those files - in particular the OMOD versions - BACK UP YOUR SKELETON.NIF! It will get overwritten! Better to install manually.
