{UPDATE - Bodyslide Presets+Conversion Templates for Elin v1.6} Tera Elin Race

much respect for creating these new Elin body types.

I'm just reading you talk about Elin 2. What will it look like?

So, what I was talking about before is the original elin race body type for skyrim.

Is anyone continuring work on this body type?

attachicon.gif2014-06-11_00014.jpgattachicon.gif2014-06-11_00015.jpgattachicon.gif2014-06-11_00016.jpgattachicon.gif2014-06-11_00017.jpgattachicon.gif2014-06-11_00018.jpgattachicon.gif2014-06-11_00019.jpg

The first model wasn't perfect, it had seams at the wrists and ankles and i think neck, and some hair models had some skull clipping. but to me it looked good enough to totally overlook. Looking closely you can see the seams.

I'm not exactly sure what version this is or what, but I know it has something to do with 2ch?

Again, as you can see it's far from perfect with the super noticeable neck and wrist seams, but meh i think it was done well.

attachicon.gif2014-06-11_00020.jpgattachicon.gif2014-06-11_00025.jpgattachicon.gif2014-06-11_00029.jpgattachicon.gif2014-06-11_00030.jpg

The seams are caused by the armor's body model not being the same as the body itself.  A body mesh is attached to armors that replaces the player's body when equipping the armor.  That is why there are no "one shape fits all" types of armors with the exception of full, body armors.

So if you want armors and clothes to fit the Tera body, the armor's body model will have to be replaced with a Tera body model to  remove those seams and the armor itself will need tweaking to make them form-fitting.

Hmm how come I am getting the CK facepaint issue even with the low res facepaint? Trying to make a follower.

Also the face texture always seems to be a slightly different colour to the body texture. The neck looks blended so there is no seam, but it is still really noticeable.

If there are no neck seams then the problem is not CK freaking-out on the custom tintmasks.  Most likely the face skin map not truly matching the body.  Does the head look "lighter" than the body?  Darker?

Sorry I should of separated those two. They are 2 different issues.

1.I get the warpaint issue in the ck where the warpaint is higher res than the vanilla warpaints. instead of for example making the warpaint blue, it makes the top of the head blue.

This is a picture of the issue. This is with setting the lips to pink: http://imgur.com/4wG8Y4E

2.The face seems to be slightly darker than the body.

Also is there any way to get a bodyslide preset for the Elins bodies? Then we could shape armour to it.

You're getting a blue forehead when changing the color of the warpaint?  There is a way to fix the forehead, but I don't remember all the details.  I do remember adjusting the color of the forehead and Skin (body color) until the off-color forehead disappears or hardly noticeable.

Do you have in your Data folder an SKSE folder containing an skse.ini file?  If using hi-res textures (including the hi-res tintmasks and warpaints) you'll need to open skse.ini and add this entry:

[Display]
iTintTextureResolution=2048

This is not needed if using textures with resolutions of 512 or 1024.

If using textures in the 4096 resolution then just replace "2048" with "4096".

I was working on a way to making conversions for the Tera body.  Bodyslide is only good for CBBE or UNP.  That means, even if I'm able to reproduce the body, the Elin neck, hands, and feet will have seams.  I can try to make a base body for Outfit Studio, but the fact that it's CBBE/UNP and bodies based on those two can pose a problem.  Don't really know until I try it out.

I did try using New Clothing Body Style Converter, but the results had problems.  I'll have to do more testing, maybe ask Gerra6 for help.

Ah I get what your saying. Also for the sake of saying so in this version (which i think is the first) the 'no armored' body also had seams, but was pre built with the hello kitty shoes thing. But that's probably irrelevant info.

Why not just make the tera body shape in bodyslide? That way people can make edits to it and you don't have to worry about converting armour to the body as bodyslide will do it for you. Seems to result in alot less work and no need to have another body further diluting conversions.

I'm hoping you can help me because so far I've tried everything and I can't seem to fix this bug.  I recently downloaded the Elin race mod (want to try my hand at a clothy ranger who is like an ultimate forest protector) and decided to replace the standard BBP meshes with the new UN7B by Alan from ANK

http://www.loverslab.com/topic/32572-un7b-a-new-body-replacer-made-by-alan-from-ank/

Don't worry I've disabled all adult type mods.  This is a challenge play-through and I don't use challenge saves for sex mini-games especially races that look like children (shudders and tries to keep down his lunch).  My problem is that no matter what I fix the hands have a seam problem.  As you can see the hand mesh seems to be conflicting with the body.  This happens in first person and third.  I've replaced the hand meshes, renamed them etc.  I even tried defaulting to the original and still this happens.

I'm missing something but I don't know what.  I realize its a cosmetic problem but it tends to break immersion (yes I realize that using the Predator Bow is lore breaking I don't care; I like the way it looks xD).  I would really appreciate some input on this.  Thank you  :D

UPDATE:  Nevermind I found it xD.  Had to dirty myself going to the Nexus (feel like I need a shower  :dodgy: ) but the feminine hands mod by Sunspot2 did the trick.

There's the link for anyone having the same problem.  Makes sense though looking at Kyrnny's hands got me thinking, "why does she have hairy knuckles?"

@Deathmaw

Because creating a Tera body, an exact shape Tera body, with bodyslide will suffer 2 problems: hand and foot seams and the low-poly mesh getting wrecked in certain areas of the body.  To counter this, the skeleton needs to be edited to help create the shape, but that will cause weapon misalignment, especially the bow and arrows.  That is why the custom CBBE and UNP bodies do not perfectly match the Elin's true body.

I did recreate the Tera body with Outfit Studio, but the wrists protruded as if the arms and hands were shoved against each other and the seam spread out.  Asked for help in one of the Bodyslide threads, but no one answered.

@Aeonthraen

UN7B?  I haven't been keeping up with the latest mods, especially body replacers.  Thanks for the link.

Try it with blabbas new Unibody that he is working on: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/27444-project-citrus-%CE%B2-v15/

I think using the supplied feet and hands for unibody would be a good idea. Personally I think the cbbe replacer for the tera body looks fine and is the one I use.

I'll give Unibody a test drive.  Is it UNP-based?  The install instruction requires UNP textures.

The textures are unp based. It uses the same layout as unp so all unp textures will work. The body is actually higher poly than UNP by a fair ammount. The goal of the body is to have the better detail of unp with the features of bodyslide. Blabba's goal has been to incorporate sliders from other bodies so that hopefully you can eventually get basically any bodyshape you would desire.

The hand textures need to be edited for it though.

Tested Unibody.  My thoughts?  If you want a bodyslide Tera body, Unibody is no better than Bodyslide 2.  Both will not create a skinny, flat-chest, curvy thigh body (curvy thighs are the only features that can be created).

If blabba adds the Tera body to list of bodies that Unibody can recreate then it's possible to create a bodyslide Tera body.  He has yet to contact me so it would appear he is not interested.

I'm having an issue where when i install the elin race mod and all other files and then try to play an already made character (vanilla male wood elf), it lowers my viewpoint to that of what an elin's would be. At first I thought it was because I had the 1st person view fix installed, so I tried to use the main file without the fix, and it still does the same thing. Does anybody know a way around this, I want to use the elin mod, but i want to be an adult character. Ideas?

Hello guys first post here and I just want to say I really love these mods. I've never really played Skyrim that much because I generally get really bored of looking at the standard characters and generic races. But now with these Elins I can play the game with the power of kawaii (and spend most of my time dressing them up tbh[Thank you based fox armors]). But yeah.

Here's my album I made so far with the Elins.

And for all the people working on the mods in this thank you so much!

These Elins share the 1stperson skeleton with the vanilla races.  Scaling for 1stperson and 3rdperson is suppose to be influenced by the race scaling that is assigned to the race.  However, Skyrim is more geared towards adult scaling and will have issues with anything shorter.  I can make some minor changes so that the Elins will use their own 1stperson skeleton, but whether that will fix your issue or not I can't say for certain, atm.  If cause is the game itself having problems distinguishing 2 different playable races with 2 vastly different scaling then I can't help with that.

Glad you like them.  Elin 2 will be released as soon as I'm can start on the voice files and find out why the body (or skeleton) is causing some odd deformation on the torso.

Thanks for the help, as long as im here, is the optional voice files just for your player character or is it supposed to work on NPCs and followers too?

UPDATE - 2014June16-UPDATE-ElinRace_Main_v1.4.1.7z

  • Full main pack update.
  • Elins now have their own 1stperson skeleton; they do not share the skeleton with other races.
  • Possible fix for 1stperson camera issues with non-Elin, playable races having Elin point of view.

The available voice files are for the playable character only.  I would like to edit the voice files of the named NPCs (ex. housecarls), something I'll work on once I'm done with the pc's voices.

UPDATE - Updated the Elin Voice Pack (KuriYokan)

I replaced the Japanese Dragon shouts with the original, albeit tweaked, English versions.  This only affects the Skyrim shouts, Dragonborn will be the next update.

Working on editing some of the complete voice sets that can be used by the PC and NPC Elins.

I'm still working on Elin 2.  Right now, in an effort to remove some body shape oddities, I may have to re-edit the XPMSE skeletons.  Not fun at all!!!

Could you provide a preview of the tweaked shouts, please? I have no idea where I got my current voice pack anymore so I want to make sure I'll like whatever I replace it with.

Isn't that the wrong "Fus" to go with the full shout?

I'm hearing a little "chipmunk"-iness with the NPC voice, but it seems like they sound close enough to my current voice pack for me to just add the DLC shouts in whenever you've got them ready.

Thanks for your hard work ;)

Glad you like them.  Much thanks to all who brought the Elins to Skyrim.

I'm hearing a little "chipmunk"-iness with the NPC voice, but it seems like they sound close enough to my current voice pack for me to just add the DLC shouts in whenever you've got them ready.

The shout is broken down into 3 files:

  • Fus

Fus Ro

Ro Dah

There are no separate file for each word or a file containing all 3.  The sample consisted of merging file #1 with file #3, but the game does it better and sounds different.

The voices for the NPCs are WIP.  These are the voices I'll probably use if I can't make the adult voices sound child-like, something I think you were expecting when listening to the song.  I was going for a "fantasy race" sound.

Some of the bard songs include instrumentals with the voice.  If anyone knows how to separate the instrumentals so only the voice can be modified, please let me know.

Hmm, really? That's really strange... then for some reason, this pack is putting the standalone "Fus" together with "Ro Dah", but the base game uses the Fus from "Fus Ro" instead?

A long while back I had wondered if the Vocaloid programs could be used to make higher-pitched dragon shouts. I wonder if anyone's tried doing that?

The game plays the files in accordance to your progression.  It uses file #1 when you learn the first word, file #2 when you learn the second, and file #1+#3 when you finally learn the third word.  I makes some sense up to when you learn the third word.  Why Beth didn't make the third file all 3 words, I don't know.

Yeah, I get that much, but the standard files for Fus Ro Dah are like, "FUS!" for single word use and "FUUUUS...." for both the double and triple words.

But it's only just occurring to me now that you probably created the samples by splicing 1 + 3 together yourself and not by recording them in-game, is that right? That explains the difference.
