Numenume's hair for Oblivion?

Hey, I recently saw a picture of a gorgeous Synx girl from Oblivion who had one of the hairs from Numenume's hairs (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11173//?), but I can't find it anywhere for Oblivion, not even as a resource so I can put it together and use it myself. I've tried using the Skyrim one directly, but the result is just an invisible bald hair (as expected since I guess the nif meshes are unique for each game). I'd really appreciate if someone could explain me how to make those fit Oblivion (I barely have any idea of how to use nifskope or such though) or even better, if someone with the skills could do the porting. I want a very specific hair with the mesh labeled as "hair01.nif", so no need to bother with other hairs unless someone else would like them ported. Thank you very much.

For requests (porting) please use this thread: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/15065-what-mod-is-this-requests/

Know that 90% plus of requests never get filled.

I will leave this thread open if someone wishes to help you learn to use nifskope\blender to do it yourself.

A good place to start on learning both of these programs is here:  http://www.loverslab.com/topic/10838-guide-blender-nifskope/

Hair files need the .tri and .egm files as well as nif files for Oblivion to work correctly I believe.

Which one is the coveted 'Hair01' you want?

Because it might well be this is already available for Oblivion as these hairstyles are ported from Oblivion to Skyrim.

On the mod's pictures I see a lot of KKK hairs, SKS and Newsea/Peggy styles. Even one Soya hair I always disliked...

In fact, just about any female hair in Skyrim and Fallout was ported from Oblivion. And many of them were originally from Sims community. I reconize KKK, Soya, Coolsims, Peggy ones in the pack. (Peggy/Newsea/Coolsims/Rose/SKS series are hard to distinguish as they are frequently redundant)

Im pretty sure the hair in question is included in the compiilation pack.

This is actually what I was afraid of - that you precisely want one of those hairstyles I'm not familar with...

I was so sure I had it lying around somewhere! Now after going through about every hair resource at my disposal I really hate to disappoint you, but I couldn't find this blasted hair. Hopefully somebody who in fact does have it will see your request in the "What Mod Is This?" thread.

In that regard it was a very good idea to ask for the hair in there.

Unfortunately this particular hairstyle seems not to be included in the complete CCC archive. I carefully opened every promising file in the whole pack in search of that elusive 'tiny ribbon at the side' hair.

But this wasn't a waste of time after all - I found a lot of nice hairstyles I had been missing out on before. Now I have installed all of those.

Thanks! I even found a better race to work with thanks to the request thread (the FF race). My only issue is the oddity of the lips, it's tough to get them right. I was very surprised to find out zotman had been using that race all along.

Dunno if it's still of interest:

By chance I stumbled upon a picture of a vanilla character I overhauled some months ago and had all but forgotten about.

That hair! Bwhahaha! When I looked through the CCC archive, I had omitted the SKS folder because I thought the requested style was a 'Peggy' hair.

But this is actually 'SKS Ren's 53'. A hairstyle I'm not that familiar with indeed. So I had used it once for a character and just couldn't remember!

Here are the files even if you might not need them anymore: SKSRens53.rar

So Movomo was right after all, the hair is included in the complete 'CCC' archive. That's where I got the files from.

Yes! Much appreciated since long hair in Oblivion works rather wonky unless it's a wig, so I still want to have a good short hair option as a base. Though I'm not exactly sure what to do with all those files, the times I've tried to work with hair it was usually a single mesh and textures, but I'll see to it once I'm back home (I can't do much gaming while I'm on vacation, which will end about next weekend). But thanks again!

About every good hairstyle for the game has this set of four textures - colour map, normal map and two highlight textures.

Then there's the mesh itself and a hair morph (the .egm file) that makes a hair fit a specific head and is responsible for the hair adapting to any deformation of the head when tweaking a face in the race menu.

What to do with those files? So after they have been installed in their respective folders in the 'Data' directory, open up a race mod you want to add this hair to in the Construction Set. In the case of the Synx, it depends if you have the race as part of MBP or as a standalone esp. To add the hair to MBP, simply implement it into 'Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Merged Hair Modules.esp'. Otherwise open 'SynxRace.esp' or whatever that race mod is named.

Let's say we add this hair to MBP. Start up the Construction Set. Select 'File > Data...' from the main menu or click on the folder icon. You need to double-click 'Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Merged Hair Modules.esp' to select it and click on the 'Set as Active File' button below. Confirm with 'OK', both 'Oblivion.esm' and 'Beautiful People 2ch-Ed.esm' the mod depends on will be automatically loaded with it.

Once the CS has finished loading the esp and its master files, select 'Character > Hair' from the main menu. Normally there should already be an entry for SKS Ren's 53. You can edit this entry.

If it's not present yet, right-click on any item on the list and select 'New', give the new entry a form ID along the other SKS Ren's hairstyles and name the hairstyle accordingly.

What you will need to do is placing a checkmark next to 'Playable'. Checking 'Can Be Male' is optional, 'Can Be Female' must be checked in any case. In this esp the latter checkmark is already active. Now make sure you have installed the files correctly with the archive's folder structure intact: They wind up in 'Meshes\Hair style' and 'Textures\Hair style', the CS is pointing to hair files in these locations. The two switches for the hair mesh and main texture let you browse to folders to select files. If these files are already in their respective folders (they should be), proceed with the final steps.

Now open the race window by selecting 'Character > Race' from the main menu. In the list of all available races, scroll down until you find Synx, select it and click on the 'Body Data' tab. To add the hair to this race, just drag and drop SKS Ren's 53 from the hair window into the 'Hair Styles' list to the right of the character window. That's all!

Save the esp and close the Construction Set. Open Wrye Bash or OBMM. Because the mod's timestamp has been changed with this edit, it will be in a different position in your load order. With the 'Lock Times' option checked in Wrye Bash, the esp will be automatically put back into its original place, that's the preferable technique to restore the load order. Otherwise just memorize the esp's location beforehand and put it back there manually after the edit.

Any hair can be added to any race like this. Same goes for eyes, skin textures and elements like horns, eyelashes, tails, wings...

Normally I would add the hair to MBP's esm, but you need to have the Construction Set Extender installed and launch the CS through OBSE to be able to edit esms.

Like I wrote in the PM to you, it might just have been a case of some misplaced file, or no checkmark next to 'playable'.

It's worth mentioning that you have managed to get the hairs working in the meantime.
