Devious Devices - Integration. (10/9/2015)

Hey guys, i recently jumped on the whole "devious" thing. Been playing for couple of days and it sure led to some interesting scenarios (like running butt naked and blindfolded thru a forest full of trolls just hoping that i remmber wich way was the nearest city). Anyway, recenly some bandits put some kind of cuffs on me. Not the one that restrain movment , just the 4 steel rings on arms that seem to be mostly visual. Problem is ofc that i can't take them off. Playing a mage with 130 destruction and about 100 alteration. Yet the cuffs refuse to give up to magic. Tried crafting chastity key but there is no option to use it. The lock maybe jamed thanks to my desparate atempts. Am i missing some options? Can you make npc help you (maybe thru other mods or somthing). Don't wanna spend rest of my skyrim life in cuffs :D

If you want more ways to get rid of Devious gear then you could always install Devious Devices - for Masses II. Mod includes random keys here and there and has full MCM. You can activate gear to other citizens of Skyrim, or not.

Devious Devices - Captured Dreams will also allow you to remove gear, but it comes with price - possibly you.

If you want more ways to get rid of Devious gear then you could always install Devious Devices - for Masses II. Mod includes random keys here and there and has full MCM. You can activate gear to other citizens of Skyrim, or not.

Devious Devices - Captured Dreams will also allow you to remove gear, but it comes with price - possibly you.

There's another mod to get keys from containers and dead bodies: the Cursed loot. You can disable the restraining events if you don't want to get tied up until helplessness, but it make thing more interesting (especially it has more items that are much harder to remove). You can adjust it as you wish: making dungeons' big chests more dangerous to have a bonus goal to escape to the towns back or you could make cities more dangerous to prevent you from stealing... And you can set the chances as low as you could be tied up very rarely and only by 1-2 items.

And one more escape option from armbinders: you can set a chance to find a sharp item that can remove it.

 

I don't know which mod adds the possibility for blacksmith npcs to remove your items for gold (maybe Integration itself, or Captured Dreams (which adds irremovable (only by master) items too) besides the Master can sell keys or remove items for gold, and Cursed loot but it has its own dialog for high sec items so I don't think).

 

About DD for the Masses: if you don't set the fake keys' chance to 0, you would have restraint keys and chastity keys which won't work on any ways.

 

Anyway, try restraint keys on cuffs (it's for them as for boots, blindfolds, gags, harness, collars). Chastity keys are for chastity belt and bra only.

 

This whole DD framework is just awesome! Thank you for your work!

Bug with this mod and Deviously Cursed Loot.  I've talked to the blacksmith in Windhelm about getting the devices I have on me off (a chastity belt and shock boots).  The option that shows up is "Can you get these chains off me?  Please".  He'll take the gold, but the devices are still stuck on my character.  Papyrus log from last session has been included.

 

that's an error with cursed loot since ddi doesn't do anything with blacksmiths

I have an issue with with SD+ where consensual and even lesbian animations are played when the scene should be aggressive and M-F.
I am told that as DD is filtering the animations this could be causing the problem (option to preserve scene aggression is enabled in DDi) so is there anyway to disable DD from allowing certain animations?

Mostly tired of seeing the lesbian ones when the aggressor is male, I've even unchecked them in SL yet somehow they are still played.

Yeah, that's a known issue with the bound animation support from Zaz Animation Pack. I'm looking in to having it fixed shortly.

I started playing SD+ again and realized I've never seen the DD arm cuffs animated like the zaz wrist cuffs where the player is forced with their arms behind their back.

Has anyone played with the idea of making the cuffs tie-able somehow? They exist in theory to assist with binding the wearer, right? I know it's too late to make a copy of each pair of the arm cuffs, since with CD and DDx it would be too much work, but has the idea been explored in some way?

I know we have the armbinder for this purpose, but the cuffs feel unused without a way to tie the character up with them. I feel it would be a good way to get the "arms crossed behind back" animation working too, since the upper cuffs are supposed to be used as well. More verity, without requiring a new model, would make this even more appreciated.

Hmm, I had a follower get gagged, and when I removed the gag her mouth stayed open. In the last patch notes it said it fixed the bug where it happened, but it still did. Is there a command or something I can type in to reset her face so her mouth closes?

First of all great mod, really good work!

But the dialogue blocking caused by gags is not working anymore for me. It used to in the beginning but after installing and deinstalling several mods its not working anymore. Even with a very simple list like the one below and a completely new character I don't get any blocking dialogues. I use Mod Organizer and never had any problems with it. I think most Devious plugs or their scripts don't work either.... at least I don't get any random events. 

I tried reinstalling all the Devious mods without success.

I hope someone has an idea what could be wrong. :)

Can this be basically turned off? That is, how configurable is it?


 


I don't want any of these features in my playthrough, I just apparently need this mod to make pretty much any other Devious-Devices-Based mods function. I don't want the quests from it, I don't want to have to deal with "Devious Effects", etc. I just want to be able to add the hardware into the game and apparently I need this to do so?

So it's late and I'm tired and I should probably be searching through the two hundred and eighty whatever pages for this, but..

 

I've noticed a couple of issues with the Devious Devices quest.

 

1) Urag spouts some line about 'don't even bother trying to break out of the restraints, you'd just be wasting your time.' Yet, it seems to be completely possible to break out by yourself, and the quest even updates, acknowledging that you've done so...?

 

2) I wasn't thrilled with the idea of offending the Librarian, whom I had just impressed by recovering books and telling him I'M THE BLEEPING DRAGONBORN. But then you take his forbidden books and he doesn't seem to care about any of that. Okay, fine. So then I started wondering if he'd allow me to take them once I was the Arch-Mage. So I've been playing Skyrim all evening, I finally finished the College quests, aaand... it's exactly the same. He still spouts the same line about the books being off-limits, by order of the arch-mage.

The first is more of a bluff from Urag, then anything. As you've said, the quest handles an escape event as a possible option for the player.

 

For the second, call it Urag being a ridiculously old senile orc, or lazy dialogue construction, or whatever. :P

 

So, does escaping effectively break/end the quest chain? Are there plans to expand this quest so that Urag recognizes the Arch-Mage (and, likely, interactions with Zed would be affected too)?

 

I also discovered an amusing exploit. I'm not sure if this affects all locked devious devices, but it seems you can sell locked items to merchants, and because the item is locked to you, it keeps getting put back in your inventory, but the gold from the sale is still transferred, so you can just keep doing it to take all of the merchant's gold.

You seem to be mistaken on exactly what this mod is; This mod is one of the two core components to Devious Devices (The other being Assets, which provides the visual textures/models). This mod provides the devices in game, and provides the framework necessary for other mods to utilize devices. Every aspect of (base, non custom) device behavior, and your interaction with them is controlled by this mod.

 

The "Devious Deviants" esp contains the quests, just don't run it if you don't want to include them. Or, as another poster suggested, just uncheck the two quest boxes. Disable hardcore mode, and turn off all of the periodic events if you want a very "minimal" experience.

Yup, that's caused by Captured Dreams, actually. There's no easy way to work around that, so I marked the devices as unsellable. Captured Dreams undoes that setting. If you want to cheat add gold, there are easier ways anyways :P.

You tool all over Eastmarch gathering Dwemer junk for Zed, turn it in to Zed, he sends you back to Urag, who insists on boinking you. After that, it seems the only thing to do is... keep telling Urag you've been bad so he boinks you again. You don't get anything for reading the book (which would make sense since it's written in a language most people can't read), but worse, Urag didn't even take the book from me.


 


The part about CDS marking the items as sellable is a bit worrisome...because I uninstalled CDS after being disgusted by one of its quests. Yet the items are still edited...?

The reward you get upfront from reading the first Forbidden Tome it allows you to craft DD devices but more importantly keys. The Zed quest is punishment for reading it (it's forbidden :P )

Maybe it could be a good idea to split up the possibilities to create the stuff. In detail: The first book out of the shelf could just give you the possibility to create the gear. To be able to create keys you could have to read the second book gained during Forbidden Tome quest.


 


Because more and more often I'm catching myself sneaking out of the Arcaneum after reading the book. Because then Urag doesn't want to punish me anymore after I left the cell. This just could give the second book an actual sense and you an appeal why to do the Forbidden Tome quest.

The book's text is a placeholder ("Lorem ipsum..." is a test message from the old times for trying the printing (google for more details), I think it's not finished).

It's not true that you didn't get anything as you can create keys by smithing after you read the book. But I think that it is designed like it was planned to continue the development of this quest (Forbiddden Tome) as the book is quest item...

 

The item selling is surprising to me as I can't sell them anywhere but only in th CD shop. Maybe if you uninstall CD, this restriction disappears while some scripts/variables are remaining in your savegame that make them sellable?

 

 

None of the items in Integration are edited by Captured Dreams, the items are able to be bought and sold because the Master was set to be able to buy and sell non sellable items. Also, none of the merchant factions in Skyrim are edited by CD either and there are no scripts involved in it.

Maybe it could be a good idea to split up the possibilities to create the stuff. In detail: The first book out of the shelf could just give you the possibility to create the gear. To be able to create keys you could have to read the second book gained during Forbidden Tome quest.

Personally I roleplay this. If I don't want to do the FT quest I go to the CD shop and buy the most expensive chastity belt and wear that to stop the quest starting. I find it works as the belt (silver) costs over 2k and then you have to find a key to remove it so there is a cost involved.

 

But I do agree in principle that it would be a good idea to have the key creation linked to book 2 rather than book 1.
