Vampire's face less sunken cheeks !

28 posts in this topic

Heya ! I'm looking everywhere for this, Nexus being what it is they simply banned me from the chat permanently because I somehow "asked to share a file without the permission of the author". Well, calling the moderator a globby bottle of cheap stinking chip oil and telling him this "is obviously for personal use you eunuch jelly thou" didn't help either I guess. Can someone share this with me ? Thanks

Do you use ECE? If yes, then you can install an optional file for this. If not; why not trying ECE? :D

Heya ! Sorry I couldn't find my post anywhere lol... I use racemenu right now, because of the higher compatibility with bodyslide and less complicated than ECE haha

Problem is, when I open racemenu as a vampire all sorts of weird stuff happen, I had this guy, he turned into a freaking monsterlike freak, it was glorious.

Might have just necro'd this thread but I was looking for a solution as well. I don't know why I didn't think of it immediately but;

Download Enhanced Character Edit

Extract files of the download to wherever

Look look for the vampire cheeks fix folder that comes with ECE.

Make a zip of this folder and load it in your manager or just copy the 'vampire cheeks fix' folder to your Data folder.

Hope this helps and again, sorry for necroing.

Really ? It's that simple ?? That Vampire patch isn't specially made for ECE or anything ? Woah aha, thanks a bunch man !

I know that there's a cheek fix in ECE, but I'm not sure if it works without ECE so I'm interested in the result.

To do this requires certain things. Let's take for example the ECE fix your talking about. You either need to be using ECE OR using a vanilla race OR using a custom race that has head data similar to that of ECE's. Case in point, if you tried to do this as my Celestial Race, you would find your characters head would morph horribly. As my custom race uses custom head data to make the Race look more unique, I added in as a default the " no face change when turning vampire " since it seems to be both something most everyone wants AND it fits the theme of my race.

You may want to look around for other races that DON'T do this and try using other head data. Also , IIRC, an easier option might be to use the " Better Vampires " mod. While I myself don't use it at the moment NOW, I seem to recall there being an option in the mods options to stop it from changing your characters appearance when turning into a vampire.

Hope this helps.

Better vampires actually only stops the tintmasks from being modified, it doesn't mess with the tri file in which the details about the femalevampirehead's chargen informations are stored. Means once you become a vampire with better vampires, your whole face doesn't have the ugly dawnguard tintmask that makes you look like a flattened bat, but your head still has the same hollow cheeks and square chin. A least that's what people told me when I tried it and saw that it didn't work, it was long ago and stuff may have changed ...

And I've got this thing on Chargen extension, it's a patch that makes you able to use ECE morphs without having ECE, would the fix work with that ?

It's a nord, don't have any custom races eh :[
I want to try custom ones but I'm afraid it'll make my game go full bonkers with all the mesh and texture editing I've done ... Too much work yo

So I tried, and holy balls ! I don't know what's happening ! Your file didn't just stop my character from morphing into an old lady who just failed her face surgery, but also somehow smoothed the blockyness from her face ! I was in the Prison Cell from Alternate Life, and chose the vampire start, here is a pic before I slept in the bed to start the game :

And once I became a vampire :

Thanks :D What does your file do exactly ??

It's not mine, I had it stored away and thought it might be the one that would work for you. It may have come from BFG ( better facegen ).

It rocks, but the file in itself is kind of heavy, and the fact that I have no idea what it does is kind of scaring me ahaha !

But since it works, it's cool eh, really thanks a lot I can finally try a vampire lord one year after Dawnguard was released  :D

If you like that you can also check out my Vampire Lord Overhaul :

http://www.loverslab.com/topic/21384-shaydows-vampirelord-overhaul-v2-12814/

It allows you to be a VampireLord but keep your body / facial features and uses a new set of animations. Basically you won't turn into a horrible beast ( Nosferatu ) . I never liked the Nosferatu look. Hence why I made the mod.

Also, you shouldn't be scared. All the file is doing is using smoother Gens ( as you noticed ) and setting a flag that says DON'T CHANGE MY FACE WHEN I BECOME A VAMPIRE. I'm unsure why you are here on LL if you are afraid of something as simple as a head gen replacers, but know you can ALWAYS delete that file and go right back to how things were before. Nothing it changes will be permanent, it only changes how the morphs you applied when you made your character look, and that one very little ( again, just smooths them and sets a flag to not sink cheeks, etc when becoming a Vampire ).

Also what do you mean the file is "heavy" ? It's less then a MEG, and only about 200kb bigger then the default. It should have no noticable impact on your games performance what so ever.

If you have any other questions let me know.

Well I know it wouldn't have much impact on my performances but I was thinking it had some other functionality since it's twice the size of my femalehead.tri :D I thought it was weird since it's, as you said , just a small flag too. But it's not like I know stuff about tri files anyway eh

I'm still relatively new to LL too, there's some things that still makes me crap my pants ahaha

And yes, I'm going to try your race, I just have to figure out which of my mods are race relative and which requirements I need to obtain before installing one. For example, I have SkyRe (a bitch with custom races), and Bodychange (I don't even know how this one's going to behave). I only played the Ningheim race so far, a long time ago on Nexus and the Epic Elves too, but at that time I only had the unofficial patches, interesting NPCs and frostfall installed

I didn't link my race, I linked my Vampire Lord Overhaul. My Celestial race would probably NOT be very compatible with SkyRe. While I don't have it or have ever used it myself, I know what it does, and it aims for something that Celestials tries to accomplish as well, that being, a self contained game changer that approaches balance its own way. I can see two having problems with one another, though you could always try asking in the Celestials thread if anyone else uses it along with Celestials and how it balances out.

What I linked is my Vampire Lord Overhaul. It simply stops you from turning into a Nosferatu when you become a Vampire Lord and instead lets you pick how you want to look when you transform and what animations you want to use. I included defaults that I use myself, but the mod is customizable.  I only linked it because you mentioned how happy you are with being able to just be a normal vampire and not be butt ugly and that you now want to do Dawnguard. Know that Vanilla dawnguard Female Vampire Lords are pretty ugly ( IMO ).

I've used your vampire lord overhaul. I find it far more aesthetically pleasing than the butt ugly thing you normally turn into. Of course I did use the wings option, though, so I still appeared to turn into something.

Damn, sorry I was smoking at college and wasn't completely ... Well I didn't completely own all my brain at that moment.

Anyway, I think I had your overhaul actually, or something very similar that I found on Nexus. That was quite a long time ago, I wasn't bothered by the "nosferatu" erhmagerd face as much as I am now ahaha... The ENB and some HD texture packs made me realize how much of a ugly piece of crap those Dawnguard tintmasks and meshes look like... I mean come on Bethesda, 'the hell is this.

I'm going to try yours since it seems way more advanced than what I've tried before. I've got the time though, I'm re downloading Skyrim and throwing away all my saves, and you can only become a vampire lord after level 10 right ? I don't remember aha

Well my Vampire Lord Overhaul is

1) exclusive. You won't find it on Nexus, I don't put any of my mods on Nexus ( except 1, a long time ago ). Fuck Nexus. and

2) different and IMO better then any other Vampire Lord mod out there. I'm the first and only person to do what I did, most thought it was impossible but I found a way.

I hope you do not mind other people grabbing that 'Try me' download, I was looking for something that would retain the normal character face after vampire transformation. Thanks :D

I'm grabbing this as well :P Downloaded, tried it and it works wonderfully with RaceMenu :D Thanks a ton! You should make a proper mod page either here at LL or over at Nexus with this gem :P

RaceMenu doesn't replace any vanilla files. The vampire morphs are contained within the "femalehead.tri" file (or maybe femaleheadchargen.tri I can't remember right now) you can easily just download a replacer for this file.

Something like: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16506/

Would probably work in this case, this would not work for ECE due to the fact that ECE has its own replacers, in which case you need the fix from ECE. This should work for RaceMenu because it doesn't replace vanilla files.
