Fallout 3: Anti-Materiel Rifle

Hey people, i'm trying to port over the Anti-Materiel rifle from NV to FO3 but there are some things I just don't have the skill or knowlege to do. So I was wonderthing if someone could please finish what I can't :)


 


I've got most things working but there are some things keeping it from being finished:


 


No.1 - Scope: I couldn't get the Anti-Mat scope from NV to work


No.2 - Animations: I couldn't get it to use the reload animation from NV and i'm guessing that it has a unique firing animation too.


No.3 - Sounds: The reload sound I couldn't get to work and the firing sound seems......duller than in NV, i'm not sure.


 


Side notes: The textures seem lower resolution and the gun seems inaccurate when zoomed in (but that could be how FO3 deals with scopes idk). Also if anyone could get NV's 50cal round in FO3 to work with this rifle too, that would be awesome.

You don't happen to have the exact files i'll need do you? That site is all well and good, but i'm only looking for a single weapon, and I have a slow internet speed. Just trying to download the main takes over 2 hours and then fails.

I am just guessing here, but I would think you just copied over the meshes and textures from FNV and forgot about the other parts, scripts, animation files, etc. If this is not the case then you are probably dealing with a limitation of the Fallout 3 Gamebryo engine version not supporting the animations. This is one of the reasons Sexout NG never got completely ported to Fallout 3, it lacked key components only available in NVSE. If work on FOSE had continued this might not have been the case. I will take a look at the riffle in game and in the GECK NV sometime today or tomorrow, right now all my systems are going to be tied up with a huge amount of torrents I am supporting that people want off "LL". I like to let my torrent server run for 24-48 hours to give folks a chance to get all the files.

You got it in one, that is exactly what I did (meshes and textures). Sadly my knowledge of the GECK and files etc is very limited and so I am only able to do simple things. I knew going in I wouldn't be able to get the guns NV animations to work myself so I tried to get everything I possibly could working in the hopes that someone with a better clue than myself could fill in the blanks.

 

I didn't expect to run into scope texture or sound issues though, that came as a surprise. But thanks for taking a look I appreicate it :)
