When completely unrelated mods result in awesome synergy....

I've mentioned in a few other threads about my semi-elaborate follower mods.

Sexlab Submit, Puppetmaster, Amazing Follower Tweaks, and My Home Is Your Home.

Recently, in my current playthrough another mod created a really nifty circumstance.

SkyTest...http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10175/?

Basically, this mod overhauls the animals in the game. And a really nice feature is that sometimes, certain animals will spawn with babies or at least young.

Anyway...Arcus Antellus was up visiting the College of Winterhold, to train up his Alteration. (I'm so close to being able to start crafting dwemer constructs thanks to SkyRe.) When Lo and Behold, a snowy sabrecat momma had wandered into the college courtyard with three of her cubs. They'd  commandeered the east side of the yard along the perimeter wall between the Hall of Elements and the hall where the college staff lives (I forget the name). It's a relatively low traffic area so they were pretty much fine where they were. But that goofy groundskeeper...(an NPC added by Devious Devices, I think) decided to wander over there.

The momma sabrecat got pissed, and she took after him.  Of course, this set off the other mages wandering around out there, and poor momma didn't last too long, neither did two of her cubs.

The sole surviving cub was left alone, mewling next to his momma's corpse.  I walked over to him, and he was totally non-aggro. So I decided to use Puppetmaster to see if it would work on the baby animals.

It sure did.

So now a Sabrecat cub lives in Arcus Antellus' Lakeview Manor house. He dutifully guards the bedroom, and likes to sleep at the foot of the master bed.

I'll come back and post a screen cap later. I just have to come up with a name for the little guy.

So here's the little guy doing what cats do...sleeping in the middle of the door-way.

I didn't realize there was a mod for such encounters. I don't believe I have ever seen any cubs in my game at all. That's something worth checking into and adding perhaps. As far as a name for the cubster, I am assuming this is a male cat? You referenced little "guy" so...

I'd either name him/her after Greek mythology or use a name that resembles what he/she is.

For example, obviously a Sabre Tooth Cat

Female: Sabrina

Male: Sabre

Here is a decent list. http://sacredsiamese.com/blog/new-kitten-names-mythology-literature

Yeah, I don't think he'll be growing up though. Once they spawn as a cub, they remain a cub.

I didn't mean it would grow up. I meant, you referenced it as a male "guy". So unless you sex checked it, I am assuming you determined it would be a male.

Oh yeah. That's how I'm playing it.

I've named him Tyco. I've also used Puppetmaster to change they way he behaves. He's more aggressive against enemies now.

I had random bandits appear outside my house when I came out unarmed to go for a morning swim.

I ran back inside to arm myself, and one of the bandits followed me in.

Young Tyco, pounced immediately, keeping the bandit busy for a few vital seconds until I could arm myself, and finish the murderous son of a bitch off.

Arcus, then...still naked, but armed with an automatic dwemer crossbow, stepped back outside and riddled the two remaining bandits with crossbow bolts, then wandered down to the lake, and finally took in his morning swim.

I recommend always staying armed. You never know when would be bandits seek to take over your homestead. If inventory space is an issue, there are some mods you may find useful which add some extra space to your inventory.

By the Gods, I can't think of the name. It starts with a "B" but my brain only wants to say Bayonet... I've seen it with some armor mod. It adds a over the shoulder type ammo satchel. Blast my brain.. Not enough coffee yet.

Aha! Found it! Bandolier was the name although I do believe the proper spelling is Bandoleer.

Nice way to add some inventory space without breaking immersion. Personally I've never used it but you may find this suitable.

Oh yeah, I have all that.

But I'm not just a grind player...I have a role play routine as well.

Arcus Antellus, my character, is content with being simply the Thane of Falkreath. He's spent a considerable amount of time and resources building his home at Lakeview Manor.

When he's at home, taking some time to decompress after a long trip on the roads of Skyrim, adventuring...he spends a week enjoying the property. Every morning, he runs down to the lake for a swim...and he does so in the buff. He's the damn Thane of Falkreath...what should he be worried about?

After his swim, he'll take in a meal, maybe make some improvements on the house...sorts out the loot he's collected, and by noon he's out on patrol around the hold. Bandits will occasionally pop up in certain areas of Falkreath, and must be dealt with. (Thanks to Sexlab Submit) Any Bandits that survive, are captured and taken into the town of Falkreath and turned in for a small bounty.

Any dangerous creatures that threaten the roads are dealt with as well...packs of wolves, the occasional bear...a few frostbite spiders here and there...all are taken out.

If there's a particularly serious threat...like a group of Spriggans haunting a ruined tower...Arcus will go into town (using AFT) and enlist a few of the Guards to follow him back to the trouble in order to dispatch the threat.
