Strange internet problem

A while ago my internet started acting up

Webpages load EXTREMELY slow (Firefox and even the steam browser)
Images sometimes load but mostly don't at all

Strange thing is downloads max out no one else on my network has the issue everything is fine on my laptop
And pings in game are 30 easily

Anyone who has expierenced this or knows how to fix this willing to help?

Not ever.

Since i recently bought a new HDD and installed windows on it
This install is probably not even 2 months old :\

Clear your browser cache for starters. Having loads of data in the cache can slow it down like that.

There's been an old Firefox bug that does this, I wouldn't know the link to it. Sometimes those bugs re-emerge with a patch. Can you see if Chrome or IE work fine? I'm not telling you to stop using Firefox but sometimes they patch a bug eventually (if it is one) and it may make a temporary solution.

I have this problem a few days ago, it's only for some website though.
I tried to remove cookies and cache, by clicking firefox>highlight history>clear recent history> set to everything and check cookies and cache> clear now. This works for me.
If that didn't work, try to click firefox> highlight help> troubleshooting information> click reset firefox in the top right. I don't know if this gonna work though.

Edit: oh sorry I miss that last post, it's only for firefox though.

Firewalls, changed UAC setting, anything? Also call your ISP if there's any maintenance.

It's fixed now

It was only my desktop PC
The other 4 computers on the network worked completely fine

UAC is off as it hinders normal usage of my computer

Just be careful though! Keep in mind that with UAC off, anything malicious basically has admin rights to do with your system as it wants, to an extent. UAC basically denies access to programs and others that want to alter your PC. Say if a website is hijacked and starts downloading something viral, and the virus scanner misses it, UAC still says "whoops, I don't know what this is, I'm denying it access and I'll warn the user". Without that, you're more vulnerable. It's always better to find the underlying reason why with UAC turned off, things do work. It might just be firewall access in example, refusing that Firefox can interact with anything.

UAC has its purposes. Personally, I do not recommend turning it off.
