Low end card, nuff said.

Oh c'mon bro. Not everyone needs to buy an R9 290x (Including mehh of course). The guy/gal just wanna know which one is beter.

My take on the subject, definitely the 760 is a better card if you have the extra cash. I don't really understand he releases of both the 750 ti and r7 260. They are just weak considering the price =/

low end means it can barely run skyrim properly. Nothing to do with high end card he ask if it can handle decent games of today, and it can't realy.

The rules for "low-end" have changed with Maxwell. A stock 750 Ti is about on-par with a stock GTX 660, despite worse on-paper performance, although it will differ in some games. The Palix OC card beats cards such as GTX 580 and 570 and Radeon 6970 in 1080p Battlefield 4 tests.

This card should have no issue at all running Skyrim, and neither will a GTX 760. Skyrim's recommended card is a GTX 260 or 4890, after all, which both of them handily beat.

But the main point of the 750 Ti is the fact that it does not require an extra power connector, it runs entirely off of the PCI Express slot. Thus it's a good choice for budget builds or upgrading prebuilts with lower end power supplies, I would recommend you go for the 760 if this does not apply to you.

Not to mention Skyrim as a benchmark is not really saying alot since Bethesda has yet to figure out how proper optimization works

Actually, I managed to get consistent 60+ FPS in Skyrim without an ENB when I overlcoked a GTX 650 Ti 2GB card I was gaming on for a while.  With ENB, I was able to play at around 30 FPS which is console level FPS playability at 1080p.  A GTX 750 Ti would do a bit better and it also uses MUCH less power as the OP may not have the PSU to use a GTX 760.

@ OP, We need more information on your current system, especally your PSU (Power Source Unit).  Depending on the PSU that he has, this will determine the GPU for him, the GTX 750 Ti is good for those with weak PSU's that don't need PCI-E power connectors and such.  If his PSU is good enough, then I would definately recommend the GTX 760.

Interesting chart. I didn't expect gtx770 outperforms 280x that much to be honest, and it's even a 2gb model versus the standard 3gb of the 280x. From what I have gathered, their performance are nearly identical to each other, looks like I was right choosing my 4gb gtx770 over the 280x when I build my rig. But as the review says, the test only features a 16 second run outside of whiterun, there will very likely be variations elsewhere considering the vast size of the world of skyrim, too bad there isn't an official benchmark tool for the game, it would make us gamers much easier to pick up the right hardware.

On the topic, 750ti is a great card for casual gamers who play at 1080p and lower, even Crysis 3 is fully playable on high settings, not to mention it doesn't even require extra power connectors, a single PCI-E slot would provide enough power for the card which is just wonderful for low budget builds with ample gaming power.

Having more VRAM won't make the card go faster

Anyway what lidowxxx said share some of you specs especially your PSU this way we could do more than speculate

Personally? The 128-bit memory bus would be a deal breaker, for me. It all depends on what you're willing to spend.

edit: Yeah, the 760 is clearly the better option. By a mile.

You realise this tested in a test enviroment on VANILLA game right.

60fps is not avarage.

Heavy modded it drops hard with this card.

When modded and enb this will drop with this card under 30(more like 20fps) if you want ultra settings all max.

And this is not saying this card sucks it prefend people from buying cards they later regret.

For money you get a decent card but remember you gonne play most games on low settings if you want 60fps.

But go ahead buy it and you see im right.

Majority who claim high fps most of time have 2 aa or disable many things to get this kind of fps.

Only few cards can manage 60 fps on avarage with ultra settings and enb heavy modded and these are highend cards.

Not everyone is planning to mod the fuck out of skyrim
Which he BTW didn't even mention he's just asking which is better

I am not even sure if the OP is even still here but go for the 750 is you have not that strong of a PSU
If you can spare it the 760 is probably a better option
