Using BOSS with Lovers installed

Hi, I was wondering if it's safe to use BOSS (better oblivion sorting software) to sort mod load order if I have lovers with PK installed, as well as many of its add-ons? Does BOSS cover the load order for Lovers with PK mods or will it mess them up? My game always crashes on combat, so I want to use BOSS to sort some mods, and it takes way too long to do manually as I have over 200 mods activated.

If there's no sorting function for lovers mods in BOSS, can anyone link me to a load order guide for lovers mods, just a simple list with lovers mods sorted, not an entire list of like 200 mods with lovers mods sandwiched in-between. Thanks.

There is no Boss load list that will correctly position the lovers mods. You will have to do it by hand. Run Boss and then hand sort your lovers files to match this recommended load order (link): http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=2810

Thank you gregathit. It didn't fix the combat crash problem =/ But at least now I can have more psychological assurance that the game is more "stable".

5. Run BOSS again.

Your done, this should now give you a perfect load order every time.

As the lovers mods load order changes ill update this list.

Look at the list and unless I am reading things wrong it is not insisting that you use either loversvictims or loversSTvictims. Further it doesn't put loversSTvictims before LoversSlaveTrader.esp! And that is just one quick look. Probably more issues in there than that.

Run BOSS to sort your load order and then HAND SORT lovers. Other wise your just wasting you time and asking for a corrupted save game.

I am not knocking BOSS as I use it myself but lovers mods come out too fast and change too much for them to keep up with. Plus they don't put the priority on lovers functioning correctly that it needs. I mean if you are going to take the time to correctly install all the stuff you need to to get sex in your game...kinda figures that you also want it to work correctly :)

Tho I know your knowledge concerning lovers is outstanting, lovers is not the only mod that I add/subtract from oblivion at any time. (daily multiple discovered and added/removed mods)

Im not going to hand sort these on a constant basis. period.

It makes much more sense to improve and work on a method that allows an already good tool, ie: boss, to do it for me.

Im sure others would also like a method to do the same.

Is this perfect no, but its getting damn close.

The unnecessary mods you see(such as victims vs victimsST) in this list cover all possibillites to keep it generic. Thus the only action you have is what you might like on or off.

And by the way, the load order example everyone is pointing at might need to be updated once in a while. Slave-Trader is listed after victims there. Which is why my order reflected it. It has now been fixed.

Your right I meant after and not before. :)

However the concept is still the same.

I would love boss to be able to sort everything correctly but who is going to take the time to keep up with the plug-ins and the changes. Examples that spring to mind using stuff we already discussed are victimsST now having slavetrader as a master. This is not the only growing and changing mod just one of many.

This has been tried before and it has failed. My concern is the number of people that show up here bitching and whining because they ran this and things didn't magically work. There is no substitute for reading the OP of each and every download along with skimming the pages comments in that thread. The AIO mod caused some of the same issues as people just installed everything and then were pissed because they didn't even read the lovers faq or any of the download OP's to see what requirements things had or what the control keys were. :(

Now I am not opposed to BOSS as I said I use it myself but let's just agree that while it may be a good tool to save a little time hand sorting until lovers mods cease to be updated or added it won't be perfect......of course what is??? :)

Don't let me talk you out of doing this I just want you to be aware that it has been tried and why it failed.

I Agree.

I am also more then willing to keep this updated. It helps me an awful lot since I seem to be in the search/find/add neat mod mode phase.

It should be pretty safe to use BOSS if you know what your doing. And don't use mods that is not Covered by BOSS. This is the only time when problem starts. Usually when people report problems and ask them for there load orders, you can quickly see where the problem starts.

Keeping this thing updated would be real pain to do. Having Lovers mods updated is not so painfull but the 1.000.000 of other regular mods is. That is where usually the problems comes from. People will always appreciate an update for this, if it gives them an easier time installing mods. So i wish you luck in this one though.

I have made several list for boss too. When i was still playing oblivion.

The Updated user list follows the above (See 1st page). And with the new way I sort it, it should produce perfect results for you using boss (it does for me now). Just be sure to run boss once, and add the unrecognized mods you have to the appropriate area as indicated. This area is commented with instructions.

You are still responsible as to which mods you turn on/off, as not all of whats listed above is compatible with each other, this just auto sorts it for you.

*** 4 Feb - Added comments to most of the lovers mods so the BOSS log will reflect what can be used with what and be more useful.

Updated the BOSS userlist on page 1.

This should pretty much allow BOSS to sort as much as possible and still give Lovers users the load order they desire.

*Updated the comments to explain the process.

Input to futher enhance this would be nice.
