Deviously Cursed Loot 5.1 (2015-11-23)

It's always interesting to see the different gameplay styles with DCL. Personally, as I roleplay a pc who isn't looking for sex at all I use DCL to generate compromising or difficult situations (usually in dungeons), so I have all the hardcore stuff turned off.

Personally I'm more into the sudden fun surprises, the hardcore bondage makes the game boring for me. But good luck to anyone that plays it differently, it'd be pretty boring if we were all the same and thanks to Kimy for making everything optional, so we can all do our own thing  :)

haha yeah the more hardcore stuff can screw you over bad , i looted an urn whilst doing the horn of jurgen windcaller and got yoked & slave suited RIGHT before i had to whirlwind sprint, never has there been such a : face - desk moment xD that garnet really wasnt worth it >.<

Try adding the no empty tag on containers mod now ustengrav is hell especially those 2 rooms with like 10 urns in them and only 2 of them every contain any loot. As all of them can trigger DCL 10% of the time and only 1-2 of them contain loot it really becomes a bit of a fun game then especially when you have no way to tell which ones you've already searched other than by memory.  :)

Other than that i use ineed to add a small amount of realism but not too over the top and i don't recommend frostfall with any devious run slave boots + no horse in northern regions = death sentence in addition it adds another very script heavy mod on top of aroused and a whole lot micro management for not much gain for me now as after a few hundred hours with it installed i'm now avoiding water and hoping between inns/campfires naturally even without the mod.

Think the worst moment for me was when i was starving, looking for food and found a barrel of food looted it all and then dcl triggered the slave gag, my character had to go hungry another day before i finally found a plug key. XD

With sex attacks turned on, I had my character raped by a draugr. The other draugr who was present starting hitting her, eventually killing her as she was unable to fight back.

I'm guessing but I suspect it's because they're classed as creatures even though they're humanoid. I ran into something similar in Redorans Retreat where a DCL sex attack triggered but the dog kept attacking while the animation was playing, there doesn't seem to be any pacification for creatures.

I'm not brave enough to try it with Rn+d yet or frostfall, I'd be dead in seconds xD

RND or iNeed mostly add an element of micromanagement to the game. Food is so abundant, that all those mods make you do is allways collect it and eat some before battle. There is no challenge and no decision making involved, just click this button regularly or you get a debuff. I uninstalled needs mods after some time, because they are completely superficial in their gameplay impact.

Weather mods like hypothermia or frostfall have a bigger impact on gameplay, but sadly it mostly boils down to restricting you access to certain areas and times. Good weather = you dont notice them, bad weather = you can not go outside. Again, not much decision making involved, which means the gameplay addition is superficial.

Compare that to a mod like DCL, where every item you get will make you rething your current situation, because they all add different modifiers to the way you play. You have to adapt to the different types of items and you will have to search for a escape. DCL adds way more to the way you play your game than needs mods and weather mods combined, because the gameplay modification is not superficial, but rather involved.

Well I guess it depends on how you play it.  If you're fine just not going outside in bad weather, guess that works.  But  that's like installing the mod, and then playing to avoid it.   I could do that with DCL, never open a chest at arousal > 25 and never have DCL triggered, mod beaten.  Just as superficial as just not playing in bad weather.

I try and play it as time sensitive (quest waits for no one) so being able to handle the weather means leather and fur tents, normal and warm armor, and 6 firewoods.  Add to that some food (spoilage on) and the effect is not necessarily the difficulty of eating or drinking or freezing, but working with the load limts.  Which also can work into DCL as when you get hit with a trap and items, that also hits your load and you have to make inventory decisions.  Noooo, not the sword I just got...

These mods are for immersion, not to be lethal.  Personally I got tired of walking around in light clothing in the deep north during snow storms or travelling for 2 months without sleep.   And for something like sleep, that ties into DCL.  In regular there's no reason to sleep, so the DCL attack chance while sleeping never needs to be triggered.  At least now I have a reason to take a risk heh.  So I find they can tie in nicely with DCL.

But everyone has their own personal taste.

Yeah those can be the interesting DCL tie ins.  With no time pressure there's little reason to take some DCL risks.  LIke why else would you be checking barrels unless you're starving for food? :)

Would have been perfect if you had spoilage on and it all went bad before getting the key, serves you right  :P

I totally agree with you, in that i only described the mods from my own perspective, and am glad you can find enjoyment where i dont find it.

hey now there's more to it than just food! i always loot to find additional equipment to ease up the survival. like lockpicks, backpacks, torches, materials for crafting, flowers, different clothes and armors(yes that never gets old) ,keys, interesting books to read...

see there is plenty of reasons   to take a lot of risks.

Yup, i discovered it would work brilliantly with dcl when i accidentally looted an empty chest and triggered an event from it, thought it would be more "fun" if i was forced to search more empty containers looking for loot, i was right :)

Most of my risk is centered around the potential reward, i have to take small risks when i loot bodies and barrels etc but if i loot an ornate chest i'm got the multiplier on that at 2.5 so high risk but chance for a high reward. But yea i normally loot everything that said I've stopped looting barrels and drawers etc unless i have a reason to now so needs mods give me a more logical reason to loot the bandits food supplies.

PS: Just a fair advance warning: Due to substantial changes, Version 5.0 will again require a new game.

Just curious: Was there already a hint about the schedule for 5.0?

I ask, because I'm starting a new game right now. And I have to decide, to leave DCL out of it and wait for the new version ... with the disadvantage to miss a lot of fun until then :P

If possible, a cleanup/update procedure 4.10 -> 5.0 without the need to start a new game  would really be great!

(Note to myself: how on earth did it come to my mind - that a devious mod like this - would ever do something nice to the player?)

Nevermind, please ignore that I ever asked

yea i'm just testing stuff currently for a long term run when 5.0 comes out trying to get a feel for stability etc. got a demonstration for a game i made tomorrow but after I've done that i might have a quick look at trying to convert the exhibition suit to the unp body so i don't have to chose between disabling the event and tolerating visual issues :)

I don't ever commit to deadlines, so there will be no schedule other than "when it's done" ;)

But here is the current progress of the implementation work (main new features only):

- Leon quest: Finished, tested.

- Yet unannounced new major feature: implementation 50% finished, Skyrim being Skyrim gives me headaches. Arp!

- Prison Overhaul integration: Finished, tested.

- ZaZ Ankle chains: Finished, tested

- MCM Export: Finished, tested.

- Slavetats integration: Apply/Remove implemented. Lacking actual tattoos at the moment. Feature might get pushed to later version for that reason.

- Public indecency quest: Finished, preliminary tests done.

- New item selector with separate material/colour choice: Canceled (DDI/DDX framework development has been halted indefinitely, so I can't see a compelling need for this feature anymore)

- Enhanced API for modders: Not started

- Solicitation enhancements: Finished, somewhat tested.

There are a few other things on my list I am pondering putting in 5.0, but haven't made a final decision about yet.

just replace the meshes in your dcl folder with the appropriate ones from here

does that actually work since its unpb? ( i mean normaly you can use the 2 interchangeably but with transparent clothing  you might start to see the difference in breast size  between unp and unpb)

and if i do get a mesh i'm happy with tifa i'll link a patch file to 4.10/5.0 and prob send the meshes to kimy as i suspect you make multiple sets of the outfit for different bodies (simple duplicate then change the meshes i believe) and maybe use the mcm to swap between them but that is up to kimy. Otherwise i'll have to try and keep the patch file up to date :) (extra esp but hopefully no one will be at the limit).

If it goes well i might look at the hood and rubber suits as well since they were also done for cbbe but unless you equip a hood by itself you almost never going to notice.

Absolute legend, thank you, I think Kimy will be pretty glad to know about this too :)

I will put a linky in my Readme file, so people can find it.

Ouuuuw - wonderful  Thank you for the update!

Now I will be wondering when and where my mighty Dovahkiin will discover that killing a dozen dragons is nothing compared to getting-rid-of-that-dawned-slave-collar

PS: NOW I am sure I will wait for 5.0

Can you give us some details about this Leon quest?

From the readme:

Added: Leon has lost his family heirloom in a gamble and needs your help to get it back. Hey, that's easy! All veteran adventurers have done that exact quest when they were young, right? You can find him in the Bannered Mare in Whiterun. One thing, though: This is still Cursed Loot, and if you think you can win back the heirloom by killing ten rats, you are mistaken!
