I usually just put on a pair of +Speed boots and ran through the whole oblivion area and grabbed the stone, so can't say I really miss it. But the dragons are quite obnoxious, yes. At least you had a certain amount of choice when you wanted to deal with the oblivion gates. The dragons seem to be completely random. Sometimes you don't see them for hours, sometimes you get three of them in the course of 20 minutes.

I do miss the attributes though, feels like you're constantly sacrificing Health for mana or the other way around.

Indeed. Fully, patched and modded, Morrowind is only really that inferior when it comes to animations. Oh and if you think fully voiced dialog is great, then there's that too.

Well I'll hope those mods will be going. I will always add stuff to my game, It depends on it, because I can't create stuff from scratch, but can modify it, ofcourse sharing with people takes a role too. I just want to see new stuff for fallout and ob, not only for new games. Because they are surely worth it. Because..like I said..Labs Ob corner is hollow, nexus is just hollow from the start and this could be a step to the end.

i'm still modding for oblivion, adding my own personalization of races, characters... creating new weapons to survive in OOO i recently installed... yep, i have been playing oblivion forever without macromods like OOO & nehrim, i barely use m.o.e. and still no idea how to become a lich, recently installed skyrim also... and i got bored :3, it was never that easy to level, 1 hour playing , i was level 4, in oblivion it takes ages also and OOO makes it even slower... oh nvm i was just ranting, i think i'll never make mods for skyrim unless i learn to rip stuff or make my own in blender, oblivion modding is easier n.n

try to control your character a bit sheo, and don't be discouraged, as long as someone plays oblivion there will be "aspiring modders" who would love to make their own stuff, like me

Discouraging part was - the worshiping. "Don't spit in a well that gave you water". Those games gave them everything and look now what they do. Because of Oblivion I know how to work in photoshop and blender. It's not about who play's what, it's about respect. Enough talk!~ Archeeeeers!~ Trebucheeets!~

Well, there are a few things in Oblivion I really don't like.

1.: The whole combat system is horrible. Attacks feel absolutely weightless, it feels like you are just clicking your enemy to death.

2.: Generic world. Any dungeon of the same type feels the same. All the Ayleid ruins in the game look the same, as well as every cave or abandoned fortress.

3.: The world is static. NPCs do nothing except walking around or talking.

That being said, Skyrim isn't perfect either. The combat feels better, but it still leaves much to be desired. If you want to see a good combat mechanic, look at Dark Souls. And of course, Skyrim is completely imbalanced, like every Bethesda game. The most fun part in Skyrim for me is the beginning, where you are still afraid of Trolls, Sabre Cats, Mages etc. Later in the game 99% of the enemies are weak and easily dispatched. Another thing that bothers me is that Bethesda never really adds options to flesh out your character. This way you never feel that you are a part of the world, instead you play some kind of alien deus ex machina that has no real place in the game world except doing quests and killing stuff, of course.

grim is right, oblivion had a crap combat system with no weight to it, fallout 3 was better and so is skyrim. though skyrim still feels like you are having seizures while flailing around with a sword.

ob felt horribly copy and pasted, it felt that way back in 2006 and still does, gates were the most boring part of the game.

vanilla oblivion was pretty awful when it came to making the npcs feel alive, they barely had any animations at all. skyrim has them moving about doing things at least, now if beth had bothered to bloody have people look at you when talking to you it would have been great!

beth still did a shit job with how npcs respond to youin skyrim, you'd think doing a big quest would change the responses from them, but no...
