VirtulDub / VP6 conversion issue

I've been trying for 2 days strait to get an avi file to compress in the VP6 format so I can add it back to it's package. I'm trying to make a custom TV channel for Sims 3.

VirtualDub is supposed to have a VP6 option in the 'Compress...' menu, but it only has some other kinds. My converter (to combine the sound and video) won't open it unless it's compressed in VP6 format. I got an error that said something like [Only supports On2 Technologies VP6 format!]...or something like that.

I tried VDub 1.9.7 and the new version. I looked at a few forums, but they mostly just say "just compress to VP6". It doesn't mention my exact problem anywhere.

My VP6 option is totally absent. Why?

This is from a tutorial pdf:

Open up the video editing program of your choice. I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 8. Because you can do this in any program, I won't go in detail on how to convert your video. That's up to you.

You want your video the size of 256x256. I then rendered it as .wmv.

We now need to convert this video into a format the Converters can read.

Do this by opening up the video and select Video>Compression and the VP6 Codec. If it already has the codec rendered in, then just save it as a .avi.

No such option exists for me (tried the new version too, same luck).

Okay, I got a plugin for K-Lite Codec Pack that let's me alter settings in VDub, but it still didn't work. I have lots of stuff now. Sucks. Nothing will give VDub the VP6 compression option.

Doing this takes up more space than 3DS Max...
