Blender and Python

So I finally installed Nifskope and Blender. When I finished installing Blender, I was notified that I would need to install Python 2.6 in order to use Blender.

 

Does the latest version of Python have support for Blender, or do I need to find a legacy version?

 

Nevermind. I just downloaded the legacy 2.6.2 for now.

OK I'm switching to that version. Does it contain its own tutorial on importation of .nif files?

No.

 

There is no tutorial.  The process and settings vary per game.

OK well I found something I missed last night when trying to import stuff. It appears that I succeeded in importing an armor piece, but I won't know for sure until I can remember how to render it.

There are tutorials in the tutorial section here and many that you can find via google and youtube.

Bonus...that package includes most of my Blender scripts pre-installed.

Seam Mender, in particular, is very handy.
