F.E.P (Facial Expressions Project)

 

What is this?

This mod allows you to select facial expressions using an easy-to-use menu, and apply them to your character and NPCs.

 

This project was made for gathering Mfg facial expression presets from all over the web to be used in a single mod for screenshot taking.

 

What I'm hoping for is to get the Skyrim community involved with facial expression creation for this mod.

How is it used?

 

 

If you're familiar with Pinup Poser, this mod functions very similar to that--except for faces.

 

After installation, an item named "zz Expression Ring" will be added to your inventory when the game starts. When you equip this ring, it brings up a menu with several options that are explained in-game.

In addition to that, two new spells will be added to your spells list; "zz Npc Expressions (S)" and "zz Npc Expressions (P)". These spells allow you to manipulate the expressions any humanoid NPC.

 

Features:

 

90 Different categorized facial presets (Currently)

 

 

Most of the presets in this mod are suited for female characters. You can use them with males, but you may experience clipping.

 

 

Expression Stacking:

 

 

This feature allows you to mix and match multiple MFG presets to produce interesting results. Disabled by default.

 

 

Modular expression strength:

 

 

Choose how strong or weak you want presets to show

INSTALLATION:

 

Use your favorite mod manager to install, or drop the contents of this mod's archive into your data folder.

 

UNINSTALLATION:

 

If for some reason you decide that you don't want to use this mod anymore, make sure you use the reset face option, save your game, then remove this mod.

 

UPGRADING:

 

Clear your facial expressions and those of any npcs affect by this mod.

Save.

Close game.

Remove old version of FEP.

Start game. Save. Close game.

Install new version.

Profit.

HOW YOU, THE COMMUNITY CAN HELP:

 

Make suggestions! Want to see a certain expression in this mod? Say it! Scream it to the top of your fingers! Just be sure to include images with your expression to give me, or anyone who wants to make presets an idea of what you're aiming for.

 

 

SIMPLIFIED VERSION: 

 

After applying your mfg settings, save your preset, then upload it here with a screenshot of your character making the face(s) and a name for the expression. Be sure to put the screenshots in spoiler tags.

 

The file will save to your base Skyrim directory.

 

Remember, you can save your mfg preset by typing mfg save name, where name would be the name of your preset.

 

For example: mfg save neutral

 

 

 

 

ADVANCED VERSION

 

 

 

The easiest way is to use MFG Console's save function; 

"mfg save nameofyourfile" 

 

i.e. mfg save neutral

To keep everything organized, I need those of you who submit MFG presets to use the following format: 

x = Mfg Power 

 

NOTE: If the second value (x) of any "mfg phoneme" or "mfg modifier" in your saved expression preset is 0, don't include it in your submission please. 

 

 

Example:

If you're feeling adventurous or are a seasoned scripter, to make my job easier, you can translate your preset into code used by my script. 

 

For Example: 

 

 

Comment with the expression name

 

mfg phoneme 6 10 would translate to

MfgConsoleFunc.SetPhoneme(act, 6, 10)

 

 

mfg modifier 16 5 would translate to

MfgConsoleFunc.SetModifier(act, 16, 5)

 

 

mfg expression 7 50 would translate to

 

act.SetExpressionOverride(7, Power)

 

So the full code would be:

Note: Power is declared as an Int in my script, which is modified by a function when a button on a menu is pressed. Akin to Puppeteer Master. Power is set to 100 by default.

So just tried this out and played about with it using some poses. It works really well so far! I'll be honest I am the wrost when it comes to trying to make facial expressions so this little mod is handy when it comes to that! Great work! I'd submit my own if I sit down one day and get to grips with the expressions. I can use mfg. I just can't create decent results. LOL

I do believe he's just lamenting what 1.9 did the game. Kind of late, since MFG Console's been out for ages.

 

I really hope you can get an NPC version going too, I've been wanting a sort of "mood ring" mod for NPCs, even if all it had was vanilla expressions.

As of 2.0, all expressions work with NPCs.

i need a bit of help, when i activate the expressions they equip for a second then the game freezes for a split second and i hear a noise like a piece of clothing has been unequiped and the face goes back to expressionless. it was working fine before then all of a sudden, i loaded the game up and BAM, fucked up.
