Huge drop in FPS suddenly

Awesome!!

Doesn't it suck how long it takes to get things back to good?

Absolutely!

And it's problem-independent. I just had the LOD-thing (from another thread) fixed, then my game decided to invert every single normal, of every single mesh (ie. if you have see a box, you'd have the mesh being visible on the inside, instead of the outside, effectively making the back visible, and the front invisible. Textures still the same, though), and the ground was invisible, so was the HUD, and the console...  :o  After trying to fix it manually (for about an hour), I finally remembered that I had this problem before, so I re-allowed streamline to change graphical settings... Problem fixed. I did have to turn litebrite off, again.  :-\

Wow man...I'll keep that in mind. I didn't know Streamline could do that. I have it as well but I mainly use it for fps, streamsaving, purging the cell buffer and fixing any stuttering.

Glad you're up and running again. I can't wait to get home and play my game again tonight.

Well, I think the issue was mainly that I was tasking my system too much...

Streamline fixes that just right.

Ah okay.

Hey, do you know anything about what the difference in selecting "Large, Medium or Small" textures in the video settings does? I tried selecting the "Small" option and everything looked blurry.

:P

Well, that confirms my suspicions concerning that setting. Oblivion has different versions of the same textures (large, detailed ones, medium sized ones, and low-detail small ones)

By selecting small, you made oblivion use the smallest textures (which look bad, as you noticed), which lowers the stress on your graphical card. Large makes your graphical card work harder, and could mean an FPS drop, but everything will look better.

Also, I think we're derailing this topic, so for any other questions, send me a PM, or make a new topic (which I prefer, 'cause I don't know everything. That way others may be of assistance). derailing topics is generally a bad idea, and usually pisses of moderators. Although the moderators here don't mind as much as on other fora, I still think it's a bad idea to derail this thread any further.

Derail it as much as u like, it seems to be fixed! :D

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Having made 3 backups of my Data folder (each one is ~ 16GB), i finally managed to narrow the problem right down to the exact file causing the FPS issue: "vipcxj_plugin_collection.dll"  it is in Oblivion\Data\OBSE\Plugins.

I think i got it after needing VipCjxs Real High Heels system for GSB modders' great "BBB Elven Sorceress Robe for Vipcxjs Real High Heels System" which I really recommend btw!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The only wierd thing now is that when i right clik/clik on wheel it makes my character spin 180°. wtf?

EDIT: but it's quite fun if u clik again and again etc ^^

Many, many thanks for finding this out...I'd been dealing with a 50% drop in FPS for awhile, and couldn't for the life of me figure out what it was.  I knew it was OBSE related, but figured it was Oblivion XP or something, because of script bloating.

Who would've thought that High Heels would be the problem...

Glad it helped out :)

Also the mouse issue was drivers related..
