Blender "Shape Key" (Facial Morph) Editing

Hi...

I leave this on a more expert board

I've been trying to make a custom argonian head for Oblivion

Needed new morph files since old ones are not compatible with new head

Conformulator won't do the trick, not in a satisfactorily way anyways..

So I think I have to do this manually, edit .tri file

Got importer/exporter script for Blender 2.49b from here

Shape Key function is still mysterious to me

Opened file with version 2.66a

Found a shape key data transfer function which did the trick.

Perfect animations copied from the original head

But now...

Can't "open" file in 2.49b

Gives error and imports faceless mesh, only lines and morphs, but I figure data was lost like the message says

Need it in v2.49b cause that's the one with the tri export script

Anyway to do this?

Or any other way to safely copy the animations in v 2.49b?

I leave the first file, both heads old an new, both with animations, working ones and messed up ones

ArgHead0.rar

And the second file, I already copied animations in v 2.66a, but I can't open it with the old one

ArgHead1.rar

Help anybody??

Edit to step 5 in this list!

I did that 2 years ago for my mod. I dont remember the exact process but is something like this:

Import your tri file to blender 2.49 using the tri import script.

1 Save the blend file.

2 Open it in newer version of blender.

3 Make your modifications.

4 When saving the blend file in newer blender, there is somewhere a a checkbox with something like "save in LEGACY format". The legacy checkbox. Click it to save the blend file.

5 Open the new blend file in blender 2.49. You will get a warning, ignore it. select the mesh, save the blend file again, close and reopen, and export it from blender 2.49 as tri file using the same script.

P.S. I'll give a look on the files but cannot promise anything, it was the only time in my life I used blender and I'm still allergic to any mesh editing program (or they are allergic to me)

P.S.2 You can also try "Seam Mender" a tool somewhere here in Lovers Lab. I hear the tool have a function to update a tri file using two nif files.

Thank you very much!

Morphs are working decently... had some troubles setting the thing to make egm files but I finally succeeded so it's done now!

For the large mod it could be a while, still lots of texturing and packaging to do

But the head is done:

Can you remember me how is the copy morphs from one mesh to the other in blender? I completely forgot that and now I have a much better head to update my mod CBBE More Variation, but I dont remember how to copy the morphs to a new baseshape. (Hell, I dont even remember how to turn the camera in blender)

It's in this page

With 2.66a in the Shape Keys panel section

You select one mesh, then the target and use the Special: Transfer Shape Key
