New cable for scanner

The USB cable for my scanner (Canon CanoScan LiDE 210) Has stopped working, and I was wondering if it's possible to replace it with another USB cable?

Make sure the new cable has the same plugs as the broken one, and bring in the old cable to show it to the clerk.

Got the right replacement cable today, but it's the scanner that has stopped working :(
