Quick Question about Mod Organizer

So I made the transition from NMM to MO, and I like how much power MO gives, thing is, I noticed that MO has a mods folder AND a downloads folder. So I basically have two copies of the same mod on my SSD. One in compressed, and one in folder. This is a massive waste of space. I know MO needs the mods folder when it makes its virtual data folder, but does it need the downloads folder there too? Can I move my downloads somewhere else after installing them?

Yes, you can move it anywhere you want. Its just a folder with all the zips and rars and stuff.

Edit: What I meant to say; you can set the download path yourself in MOs preferences. So you dont need to manually move any files, just point a directory where MO downloads them.

I watched Gophers videos about it, and he said that if the folder is on a diff drive, then the mods also load from a diff drive, so it won't be as fast as SSD. So to clarify, the mods folder needs to be on the SSD, but the downloads folder doesn't, right?

Yup, you can keep "mods" folder on ssd and put "downloads" on hdd. Thats the way I have it set up and it works fine. Dunno what Gopher meant with that but files in downloads folder are only used when installing a mod, not when playing the game.

Another factoid that may be of interest to you: After you install a mod with MO, you don't need to keep it in the download section. That is to say, feel free to delete any mod you hare already installed from the download area, no need to keep both copies. Hope this helps!

I wouldn't do it though, it's always better to keep backups just in case, especially when you dl them from the nexus, you never know if you'll get them ever again.
