Greetings to all.

I need to ask you.. a question. Has anyone else a mysterious heartbeat in Oblivion? A heartbeat that is replaced only when having.. intercourse by a loud consistent mechanical whoosh.

This is irritating. Not because it is there but because it is so loud. If this is not caused by your mod, forgive me. I did not see. But if it is.. would there be a way to turn it down or even to remove it completely?

We can't help you very well otherwise.

Lovers with pk does have some sound effects that are a weak attempt (not that I could do better mind you ) at sex and that could be what you are hearing.

Well your load order needs a bit of help for starters

Pop over to the link below and click on the technical assistance spoiler, then the example load order spoiler and sort your load order accordingly.

That may or may not fix your sound issue.

If the above doesn't correct your sound issue then check your Oblivion\Data\sound\fx\lovers\fsex\ directory and see if one of those (or all of them is the annoying sound you are talking about.

Also check:

Oblivion\Data\sound\fx\lovers\BCM\

Oblivion\Data\sound\fx\lovers\NS\

Oblivion\Data\sound\fx

In one or more of these directories you will find what you are after. You can replace the offending file or files with something that sounds better to you or replace it with a blank wav file.

It seems changing the load order did little to nothing to solve the issue at hand.

I have been using BOSS and Wrye Bash from the beginning of my current installation, although with the wrong settings I'm afraid. That has been corrected now and everything should be the way supposed to.

The directory location of sound effects you mentioned I have gone through numerous times in search for this noise but with no avail. As the heartbeat sounds like the repeated dropping of a heavy stone object and the mechanical whoosh like the machinery in the Fighters Quild quest The Hist, the only reasonable explanation is that sounds from inside the game are used and the only way to change them is to edit the plugin, which I dare not to do.

It is a bit strange though that I seem to be the only one with this.. "problem".

ZeKollektor, it is not quite so surprising as you may think as there are litterally tens of thousands of mods for oblivion and no two people have the same load order.

I take it you have archive invalidated via bsa redirection (including the sound files in addition to the textures (the picture on the site just shows the textures box checked): http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/Oblivion_Mods_FAQ#Archive_Invalidation

Try hitting the console button during the banging noise to see if it is spamming any errors during sex.

If that doesn't work you may have to start disabling your non lovers mods one at a time to see may be causing this.

Also what version of BU Framework (Breakundies.esm) are you running? I hope it is version 1.2 as that is the only version that is compatible with zzBreakUndiesAddonMotionChanger.esp. Version 2 of BU Framework is not compatible with it.

Is this thumping kind of sound? If yes, then try using cidnothump.esp from Curse of Hircine - Resurrected http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=35118 or Duke Patricks Basic Script Effect Silencer http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=15677 and rebuild the bash patch.

Archive was invalidated via bsa redirection but only textures not sounds. I made the necessary changes. However, it did not help.

Everything seems normal in the console, no errors and everything runs smoothly just as it should.

I do seem to use version 2.0.0 of BU Framework.. I will correct that immediately.

I will try Cygarniczka's suggestions before I resort into disabling my mods one by one but I will be forced to do that if no solution is found.

Cygarniczka is correct--I used to have that horrible 'thump' a long time ago before I came to LoversLab.

Absolutely brilliant!

The problem is solved. The cidnothump.esp removed the heartbeat, or the thump as you called it and Duke Patricks - BASIC Script Effect Silencer silenced the grinding machinery.

It is wonderful to be able to hear all the other.. environmental sound effects now that the deafening racket is a thing of the past.

A thank you is in order for all of you gentlemen that helped me solve this mystery and for the rest of you who vigorously upkeep these wonderful mods that bring joy to the rainy days.
