Crash on Imperial logo

Hello,


 


I just reinstalled Skyrim with the hope of having a more stable game, installed a few mods (I have 176 plugins in total), but strangely my game CTD after the Bethesda logo, and to be more accurate : at the Imperial logo (main menu), just before the options to start a new game/load etc appear.


 


I believe it's not a master file issue, I tried to run TES5Edit and no problem, same with LOOT, no dirty files, no errors.

You have enabled a mod with a missing a master or a required esp.

that's weird, shouldn't TES5Edit tell me about it since it loads all the files?


EDIT: wow lucky me, I found the mod that was crashing my game, 3DNPC... but why, I don't know, and I don't even know why TES5EDIT couldn't find it had an issue ><

I don't use many programs for mod management as I used in Oblivion, I remember wyrebash warning about missing requierements, for Skyrim I only use NMM and I've been there but l don't run many mods that depend on others so it was easy to fix the issue when it happened, and when it crashes before you can even play I'm pretty sure that's the issue.

I'm not an expert in all of this CTD business but there are a couple of things I found out through trial and error, experiencing them and reading around.

 

- It might be as well a load order issue. Use LOOT to sort things out.

 

- As Ky Kiske said, it could be a missing esm/esp that is causing the issue. As far as I know, TES5Edit should tell about it if you load all your esm/esp files.

 

- It could be there are a couple of mods conflicting with each other. Happened to me once if I can recall correctly, make sure you read the mods' description. It might be you missed some important note regarding some installation process, required mods or even compatibility issues.

 

- If all of this failed, try to uninstall the mods you recently downloaded since the last time you were able to play. Install them one by one and see if they cause you to CTD. A bit tedious but could be useful to find which one is causing you this issue.

 

 

 

Edit: Upon inspecting the list you posted, I saw this message.

 

dD - Enhanced Blood Main.esp

Note: Requires: Dragonborn-Dawnguard_Compatibility Patch \\ Dawnguard + Dragonborn.

 

Seems like you are missing a patch, or so that is what I can tell. IF you had this mod before and never faced CTDs, then I'm not sure if I can help you further.

No worries, updating Enhanced Blood.

Problem was Interesting NPC mod, no idea why it made the game crash like that since it had everything needed. I'm glad I'll use Sofia follower mod instead of using these characters, but they could fill my empty world lol ^^

Do you use NMM? Try Mod Organizer instead. It usually warns you about missing masters and other kind of errors. Even though not every error displayed my MO is really an error

Well I know MO is better, but I feel NMM is easier to use.. But you're right I should try MO instead, it could help me to avoid crap like that^^

It is good to know that you were able to find the issue, I hope I was able to assist you somehow. I never used Interesting NPC so I cannot quite tell you if there was something wrong.

 

Though if you want some new NPCs then you may want to take a look at Immersive Wenches. Sure, it is not as good as INPC from what I heard but if you just want NPCs then it maybe sufficient.
