New Vegas Lakelurks CTD/Freeze

While playing fallout new vegas, when i get to lake mead or other areas with water that have lakelurks, the lakelurks will cause a ctd/freeze usually when trying to swim away or when companions chase them in the water and try to hit them, this even happens when no mods and a clean save are used, also indoor lakelurks like the ones in camp guardian caves do not cause a ctd/freeze

I have tried to search google, nexus(bug fixes), and this forum but no results yet, also have used steam to re validate files mainly was wondering if anyone else was getting this problem before trying a reinstall of new vegas to see if that would solve problem
