Skyrim is being whimsy again

Until 2 hours ago (it's 9:32, right now) my Skyrim was working fine. You know I slayed my first dragon (in my current playthrough), convinced Irileth to lay with me, got Lydia. I even managed to teach how she can get around chairs. She seemed rather confused by them, just stood there with puppy eyed like she was saying 'Help me!' I told her all she needed to was take a step to the right and that she could do it. I encouraged her on and on and on. But I had all but given up on her when she surprised by taking that first step... to the right. I was so proud of her. I commented that in addition to having a great ass, lovely tits, she wasn't all that dumb. Then I quit the game (after saving, pfft). To follow up on one of my mods, and possibly rebuild my Bashed patch with Elemental Dragons.in the meantime.

 

When the patch was done, I thought to get back into the game. Only it wouldn't let me.   I thought Elemental Dragons didn't like to be thrown in Bashed Patch. But I was wrong.   Then I thought it might be Patchus Maximus being stupid again. It was not. After quite some time activating esps one by one, I finally detected the culprit. It was Wet and Cold. Let me describe what kind of CTDs I am getting. It is identical to those you get when you have missing plugins, only in this case, it is delayed. I have been plauged by such crashes for quite some time. And I am familiar with them, in a manner of speaking.

 

I will not tolerate Skyrim's whims.   I will not tolerate it running mods perfectly and then suddenly deciding not to. Thus I came here. I am looking for solutions. Anything. Anything at all.

I do not know if this truely pretanes to your problem. (I've never had an issue with Wet and Cold.) But you asked for ANY solution, so these are my go-to, fix-this-shit collection.

even if there's no problem in tesedit, if you add/remove a mod, it can break your save

because the save is looking for 1423da11, and now it is 1523da11

 

make a backup of the save, and try savegamecleaner, or the one that reset the world
