Medium budget PC build: AMD or intel

Hi folks.Time to build a new PC,as my current is  aging. My budget will be b/w 800-1000 E( leaning towards 800-900).

I will prolly build it this summer( it may matter if there is  something new in the market soon that it's worth waiting for).

What I will try to buy is a PC which will be able to hand games like Skyrim at ultra-high,Witcher 3,1-2 MMOs (like ESO, dont throw stones at me! :) ),assassins creed, next TES/Fallout game,Rome 2 Total war.I dont play battlefield-crysis,generally FPS games.New PC should be able to hand next gen games for a period of 4-5 years.

Other activities:internet surfing :P,minor modding -Blender/Nifskope etc,just casual stuff.

Million dollar question( and million times asked):AMD or Intel?

I' ve read and watch plenty of articles/vids these days, many ppl believe that benchmarks tell just a part of the story, while in real performance AMD ( within my budget) is equal, with no or slight drops to FPS and overall performance.New games will take advandage of the more cores AMD have etc.Another thing that many point out is that one should invest his money on a great GPU for smooth game performance.

Taking all that into consideration,is AMD the way to go? should I look for a better CPU/GPU game combo, than spend more on an Intel CPU for just a slight improvement?

PS i am not either's fanboy.I have had both in the past.I wish to hear your opinions and real experiences for both options.

buy intel core-i5 for most situations it good if you not want to spend big money for i7. Amd not better, 8 cores in most situatuions give not 2x boost in perfomance against 4 core intel i5. Difference between i5 and i7 not huge so better buy i5 and better gpu, ram you need min 8 gb

Score now with AMD videocard next generation will all be complete new versions soon be released and prolly more expensive if you want a AMD hehe.

I suggest try go for a vidoecard with 4gb vram its better future proof if you want to play on high settings and games like the whitcher 3.

icore 5 are good CPU for your budget.

Generally, you want to consider this:

If you NEED a PC now, buy AMD. Cheap, does the job, working performance.

If you still have time, try to save a bit more, and go Non-AMD. Or go with not 'top of the line' CPU to shift some possible money over for a GPU.

Intel is clearly the only real alternative for CPU at this point, in fact, AMD more or less has resigned and is focusing on their 'all in one' CPUs and mobile stuff.

Graphics Card wise, you should consider this:

AMD Cards utterly sink NVIDIA Cards during Benchmarks that measure pure processing power. Nowever, they, in turn, get buried once a game actually makes use of the (hardware side) features in an NVIDIA Chip, since AMD has to emulate every damn thing, which eats up power.

On top of this, AMD (and the now GPU Branch, formerly known as ATI) has proven time and time again that they can't code drivers for shit. Even officially 'best played on ATI/AMD' Games pretty much performed horribly.

And if you think of 'OMG Mantle Technology' - AMD pretty much told game devs to look at DX12, not the Operating System Agnostic 'Mantle' Tech.........I think that pretty much summarizes it.
