This is pretty much the way i see it. I don't actually have any sex mods on for my normal playthroughs simply because my install's somewhat unstable as it is, so having all the Sexlab stuff running on top of that is just added stress that i'm not actually going to be putting to use anyway since i'll be preferring to just play the game normally. But not regarding it as shameful, absolutely.

But that's referring to my normal characters (which is usually just the generic default Nord, since i kinda figure that's the "intended" LDB) that i actually play with. The question's better-suited perhaps for Nexus, who i do have Sexlab on for and i use her for my screenshots. Now this is where i can properly answer.

It's kind of a matter of mindset. Obviously she's a somewhat idealized fantasy (though a more or less realistic one, i really don't go for the more cutesy anime girls, i prefer a realistic woman) that i created for taking sexual screenshots with, and in that way calling her a "sex object" isn't necessarily incorrect, but i think the term kind of has some lowbrow connotations that aren't really appropriate for how i do things.

Obviously the pictures i take with her are pornographic in nature, whole point of it is that it's boner fuel. But the way i actually approach taking the screenshots is more along the lines of erotic photography. I have some photography experience in real life, and since taking screenshots ingame uses the exact same concepts and principals, it's all translated across just fine and it informs how i view things. I don't see her or any of her partners in the shots as sex objects (specifically, the connotation of "sex object" that they're solely there to fuck and throw away), they aren't actually doing porn, the pictures are meant more to be snapshots of actual sex they're having, frozen moments in time of something that's actually happening rather than stuff that's done purely for the viewer's benefit like porn is. Subjects of virtual erotic photography, but without breaking the 4th wall. Another way of putting it is that there's no camera present at all, the picture just is.

So... she's technically a quote-unquote "sex object", but i treat the whole thing with more respect and class than the term kind of implies. She's a classy seductress as opposed to a slut, if that makes more sense.

I suppose it depends on what your point of view is on sex object.

 

For me originally I came to LL cause I was looking for alternatives to death, the dieing and reloading just took the immersion out of the game and made me not care if my character died. All it did was make me save more often. I added a bunch of mods to make the game harder which made the fights funnier but still the same issue with death.

 

So I find LL, with Submit and Defeat helping my issue. Now losing in combat had consequences. Then the mods expanded to have gold and gear stolen, debuffs added, all of which made hard fights a lot more scary. Now instead of reloading you could end up far worse than you was and still playing. I start running from fights more, avoiding some I didn't think i could win.  Which I felt was more immersive, with the settings just right, sometimes you die in fights and sometimes you don't and your character gets ravished and their gear/gold stolen. To me it made more sense than just reloading.

 

Which lead me to exploring LL, for better skeleton, and some other mods. Then for immersion things like whore mods, I mean if you can chop would for gold why not whore yourself for gold? Then you get into mods like Solutions and Amorous Adventures and it just goes from there.

 

So I don't know what the answer to the question would be, I will leave it with a similarity with Game of Thrones. I appreciate the nudity and sex in GoT, because it is realistic and it is nice to see, but I don't watch GoT just for the sex and nudity. I think the sex and nudity adds to the show but doesn't make the show. I feel the same way about Skyrim with LL. Hopefully that makes sense.
