Skyrim CTD upon loading save

I continuously CTD upon loading my saves. They sometimes work, for whatever reason cut upon reentering the game it won't let me back in.

I've run Boss, TES5EDIT, and Wyrebash. No issues with load order to my knowledge. I've also been running FNIS as i should.

Ive worked out how to clean Dirty Edits and, hopefully, removed them all without messing anything up.

I use SSME and Skyrim Project Optimizer since  I am running 230+ mods.

(This might be the problem but it shouldn't be bad enough to CTD like it has. You tell me.)

I tried understanding my papyrus.log and removed a couple mods, but I don't think I was making any coherent progress, and only made it worse. Translation would be appreciated.

The CTD upon loading saves, as far as I understand, is often caused by loading many script heavy mods and if the cell size you are loading into is large then it's going to be very difficult to load that save and will usually CTD when you try to load it.

 

I have the same issue and I try to avoid it by always saving in small interior cell and be right next to a loading door. If I'm able to load the save then I leave that cell and re-enter if needed, that usually works for me and I can continue playing. The other thing you can do is from the main menu screen open the console and use a command like "coc qasmoke" it's a test cell and should load every time for you and then from there you should be able to load any save without problems.

I got into Qasmoke, thanks by the way, but I ended up as a nord character. After waiting for all my mods to instal I then loaded my Succubus character and then it CTD again. Should I remove more mods? Any you would recommend removing due to heavy script or lack of purpose?

 

Or is there still a chance something else might be the problem?

Hmm my guess at this point would be that you may too many mods that are too demanding to be all running at once. I know Skyrim does have a supposed "limit" on the number of mods you can install before the games becomes very unstable and as I recall that was around 250 mods. It's possible that your 230 mods that have some are very demanding is causing the same effect, and you could try uninstalling some and if that makes the game more stable.

 

The only other thing I can recommend is use LOOT instead of BOSS, I know BOSS works very similar to LOOT but as I understand LOOT works a little better for Skyrim as it's updated more often. I've never used BOSS I've only used LOOT so I don't know if there's a big enough difference between the two that would help you, but I recommend trying that and see if it helps.

 

Beyond using LOOT and perhaps uninstalling some mods, I really don't know what else to tell you. I'm not an expert on this at all so sorry if none of this helps, hopefully someone with more knowledge on this subject will be able to help you.

I really don't want to start another new game and reinstall my mods again unless absolutely necessary.

Figured it was the sheer number of them I was running. Just wanted another opinion.

With this many running it was as likely there was a conflict error I was missing. Wish me luck

I browsed over your load order again happened to notice something, you have the Immersive Wenches mods (InnGirlsResources.esm) and from the fact that you have Apachiihair.esm installed as well, I'm assuming you're using the Apachii version (If not please correct me). For the Apachii version of Immersive Wenches you need both Apachiihair.esm AND ApachiiHairFemales.esm, after looking over your load order again I did not see ApachiiHairFemales.esm there.

 

I would definitely still install LOOT since it will let you know if a mod like Immersive Wenches is missing another mod that it relies upon to work.

The postives with using LOOT over BOSS is the fact that LOOT is updated and the mods there are better recognized then by those in BOSS and as a result, you get a better load order since the program actually knows the mods as opposed to BOSS which doesn't recognize as many mods.

Save game script cleaner would be a good mod to keep around to clean up orphaned scripts. It might help.

Safety Load is also good. (Don't remember if I heard it was obsolete...)

Sometimes I have similar problem, my game crashes right after loading. I have 2 methods to avoid this, one is the aformentioned quit the game only in small areas. The other is to restart my W7 and the next load will work, whereever I left the game. I tried to flush the W7 memory with tools, but only the restart works reliably.
