I'm hella tired so here's the work in progress for the next picture. I didn't get much time to draw today (had my Friday game to go to and I ended up having a lot more work before then than I predicted) but tomorrow, ah, tomorrow it is the weekend! Gonna chill out and draw all day. It will be glorious.

I got most of the way through the initial sketch and decided the pose lacked oomph, so I decided to push it a little more. I'll finish it up tomorrow.

 

I saved a bunch of these in a folder and I'm just drawing them in the order the files ended up in, so they won't necessarily come in the same order you guys posted them in oops.

If you use enb, treat it like a photoshop.

I love the second sketch. Jex has a good  eye for composition but it's cool to see it reinterpreted so well. Can't wait to see the end result.

Speaking as someone who just had his wish fulfilled:

I love this. I love you in a Platonic manner for doing this. Nothing I say after this takes away from that.

Speaking as someone looking at this objectively and trying to be constructive:

Obviously this thread isn't a professional venture that I expect you to sit down and really put work into, so obviously it isn't going to measure up to some of the other great things on your tumblr. I figure most of the small things I can see are thing you are probably already aware of and would have spent more time on if you were being paid.

That said, one thing sticks out to me. Her visible eye is bugging me tremendously. It's like her eye is mostly flat on the side of her head. Easy mistake to make if you don't do many profiles. Weird thing is I'm looking at various anime-style heads in profile on google and going back and forth nothing about yours seems to be all that different. Maybe it's just her looking at the viewer that's throwing me. It just feels like the outside corner of her eye is a sliver too far back.

I hope that was helpful in some way. I don't mean to sound nitpicky, it's just something I noticed and I figured since I'm not entirely inexperienced at creating art and since you picked a character of mine to draw over many other candidates, I owed it to you to try to be helpful on top of declaring my deep appreciation.

I would have never guessed that Organic was your base ENB for all your shots.  

 

Oh and nice shots by the way.  Your shots and sets are some of my favorite to look at.

You don't have to qualify it -- I'm always open to critique. (From anybody! Regardless of art experience! Anybody can recognize that something looks funky and say, "hey this looks funky.") Be nitpicky! I'm cool with it! That's how I improve! Any artist will tell you, when we spend a lot of time looking at something zoomed in, we start to get get blind to the little mistakes we make. That's why artist flip a picture to find the flaws (I'm so bad at remembering to do that lol), and why artists come back to a picture two days later and go, "Oh my gosh, this is awful, why didn't I see this stuff?!"

 

I want to gently point out, though, that in trying to not be insulting with your critiques, you've been even more insulting. I put a lot of time and effort into everything I draw (I hope it looks it, even if there are mistakes!) and critique is always welcome, so something like, "Obviously this thread isn't a professional venture that I expect you to sit down and really put work into" kinda hurts. If this is rushed, it's because I got busy and it was late already, not because I'm not being paid. I know you don't mean it like that, though. I'm just pointing it out, I understand where you're coming from. Thank you for the critique and the opportunity to draw your pretty character, and you're welcome! I had fun!
