Savegame sizes ??

I was wondering if it is normal if you have 100 mods installed or above / to have 10MB + save game size ??

normally if my i play less mods usually i get around 6 to 8 MB in size. When is the savegame range of bloating is 80 mb and higher ??

That seems pretty normal to me for Skyrim. I would say save game bloating is about 40mb or higher but its been awhile since I played Skyrim.

The mods themselves don't really add that much to the size of your save files, at least initially. The initial size difference between a vanilla save and a save with 100 mods would be no more than a few megabytes. I suppose it would continue to be the case further in the game, unless you have a particular mod that causes a snowballing effect in your save. With about 200 mods, the largest save size I've ever seen was about 13-14 MBs. I should mention that I haven't properly started to play any DLCs so far, aside from a few initial quests of DG, so the size might be larger for people who have completed all DLCs.

There are a few mods that adds a huge amount of scripts to a huge amount of objects and never release them.

These mods may increase the size of a save game a lot.

Have 169 mods installed, a save game that is in the live another life starter area with a level 1 character is roughly 6 MB and a level 50 character that has done quite a bit is about 14 MB for me

I'd say anything over 20-25 MB is bloated so a 80 MB one i would expect to have issues

it depends how much you've played with that char, not just on mods.

Got char with 410 hours played, each save is 21 mb, made a mess on that character so many times that i cant even remember (that was my first so obviously had next to none knowledge of what not to do while moding) and it is still very much playable.

I have noticed this part but mods like sexlab defeat when you activate npc vs npc also seem to increase my save game sizes. i will have have to start experimenting with very small lists and see what mods play nice with each other.

Large Save Game Size

Causes

1) well obviously scripts

2) less obvious but largely the case of a big ass save game.

The Save includes information on,

Progress of every single quest.

Dialogue

Every Freakin item that you moved, touched, manhandled.  Remember that Cabbage you kicked in Riverwood?  What?  You don't, well your save game remembers.

Every single item you placed in safe storage.

Every Door, lock, npc killed, item moved, node mined, relationship change, sooo many things to list that it stores.

Biggest freakin one is items and doors.

Basically there is a sorta fix.

Consolidate your stored items to just one box.

Allow 30 ingame days to pass.  This resets cell placement data.  IE restores more than just bandits, this restores placement data of objects and doors, should work on locks.

That can substantially reduce your save file size.
