Description
This will be a series of patches to xaz's Prison Overhaul V033 mod, until PO V034 comes out.

 

Requirements

  • Required Mods (this mod will not work without these) 

Prison Overhaul V033 - and its dependencies.

  • Recommended Mods (more features available with these) 

Devious Devices - Equip - and its dependencies.

 

Install
Uninstall previous patch version, then install the latest version overwriting everything.

To arrest the player,


akSpeaker.SendModEvent("xpoArrestPC", "FalkreathCrimeFaction", 2000)

Here akSpeaker will arrest the player and add an extra 2000 gold to the bounty and take the player to Falkreath jail

  • If the above event does not have a reference passed (aka. akSpeaker) the player will be arrested by the nearest guard, if none then the nearest NPC. As of 5e it will look for nearest guard first, if none then it will use the nearest NPC.
  • If the arresting NPC is custom then you have to specify the crime faction that NPC belongs to, as a string, valid ones are
"PaleCrimeFaction"
"FalkreathCrimeFaction"
"HjaalmarchCrimeFaction"
"RiftCrimeFaction"
"HaafingarCrimeFaction"
"WhiterunCrimeFaction"
"EastmarchCrimeFaction"
If left blank "" then it will try to automatically determine that NPC's crime faction.
 

StorageUtil Variables (your mod can check these anytime using Papyrus Util)

To find out if PC is in jail,


StorageUtil.GetIntValue(Game.GetPlayer(), "xpoPCinJail")

Here an INT value of,

1 -- PC is in jail
0 -- PC is not in jail
 

 

Patches
The latest patch includes everything in all the older patches.
A manual PO force restart is mandatory before and after installing the patch.

Patch 7d

  • Patched .::. Being able to drop the HC collar from the inventory, as reported by savvas1.

  • Added .::. More integration with Devious Devices - Equip.
  • Added .::. More MCM options.
  • Added .::. MCM option to have your follower DD bound when arrested with you - if you have DDe installed.
  • Added .::. MCM option to choose the % chance that your captor will have some "fun" with you, before taking you to jail.
  • Patched .::. Captor teleporting the PC even if within range.

Patch 7b (The elusive one) :P

Started to move all DD support to use Devious Devices - Equip.

  • Added .::. MCM option to choose the type of restraints the captor will use. This depends on Devious Devices - Equip being installed. If it is not installed, then the PO restraints will be used.
Otherwise choices are,
1. Classic restraints. - PO restraints.
2. Devious restraints. Here are two choices.
1. MCM Restraints - will use the restraints you set up in Devious Devices - Equip MCM.
Make sure you select some restraints in the DDe MCM - otherwise no restraints will be equipped.
2. Any Restraints - will use random restraints.
  • Added .::. MCM menu. If you have no devices selected in there - no devices will be equipped.
  • Added .::. Cage whip scene. WIP
  • Added .::. MCM option to control your captor speed i.e. the PO Bounty Hunter, Jailer, as suggested by Slorm.
Four speeds are available,
1. Walk - the normal speed for all NPCs in Skyrim.
2. Fast Walk - probably the best speed for a bound PC.
3. Jog - Try and keep up with your captor.
4. Run - Your captor is out of here. Careful with this indoors, your captor might miss his/her mark in scenes resulting in them running back and forth.
  • Changed .::. Jailer to Master Jailer.
  • Patched .::. Arrest scene compatibility with DA.
  • Optimized .::. Guard arrest scene.

 

Patch 7a

  • Patched .::. Prisoner in caged scenario being on the outside of the cage.
    • New AI for gathering the crowd - to hopefully eliminate the crowd gathering inside of the cage.
    • Patched .::. Eliminated the boulder by the pillory in Morthal as suggested by panthercom
    • Patched .::. PO BH armor equip/un-equip.
    • Patched .::. The jailer remembers if the escaped prisoner was wearing DD's in the previous jail stint, and re-equips them on release. [*]Added .::. New dialog for BH to jailer handoff.

Patch 7

  • Patched .::. Pillory struggles.
  • Added .::. A bunch of new functional cells for future developments, all navmeshed and NPC friendly. The entrance is a secret ... for now.
  • Arena - for the slaves/prisoners to fight and gain their freedom.
  • Labyrinth - unruly prisoners will be thrown in here and forgotten. (I'll add a lion later) :P
    • Although I finished the cell completely and it is functional, I did not include a key needed for it to be solvable.
    • You can try the "brute force" approach, but with over 6000 combinations you might be in there a while.
    • Do not enter the Labyrinth unless you want to console out, or try all possible combos.
  • Maze - for the slightly unruly prisoners.
    • There is a story behind this (my meager attempt at fiction) and although difficult, it is solvable as is, key included in the story.
    • Look for clues inside.
    • You could try the "brute force" approach, just bring a lot of healing potions. There are only about 80 possible combinations to solve it.
    • I've also included a poem I like, by the BDSM Art Master "Bishop".
  • Punishment Sublevel 1
  • Punishment Sublevel 2
  • Jailer's Place - a central conduit connecting all these cells.
    • Its like a bondage tavern.
  • Main Hall - a huge empty hall, umm ... because I could.
  • A save cell - a very small cell -- the best place to save your game.
  • Patched .::. The arrest scene.
  • Optimized .::. The DD removal function by using StorUtil functions.
  • Added .::. Pillories to Morthal and Windhelm.
  • A bunch other stuff no one cares about.

Patch 6d

  • Added .::. More BHs.
You might ask yourself, what could be better than one OP BH? Well, how about three OP BH? That's right, for a limited time only, you don't get just one OP BH, you don't get two OP BHs, ... you get three OP BHs! Yes you've read it correctly, no need to read it again, with this patch you get three over powered bounty hunters hunting you down for your naughty misdeeds. Good luck, you'll need it!
Not available in all holds, especially Markarth. Also, two of them are really just your guards there to protect you, when you are being taken to jail, maybe?
  • Patched .::. A bunch of bugs, I think.

Patch 6c

  • Patched .::. Teleporting jailer to location from 6b, bug reported by twoaxemasher.
  • Added .::. MCM option to turn on auto leveling, as suggested by Slorm. WIP

When loosing skills XP you have the option to drop the level XP and PC level accordingly.

  • Added .::. The bounty hunter will show up in random armor, including Daedric and even Ebony Mail. There are 8 different types of armor, for now.

Patch 6b

  • Patched .::. Skill removal when force restart PO, bug reported by Brommer
  • Patched .::. Global days spent in jail calculation.
  • Patched .::. Script functions for optimization.
  • Added .::. Teleporting the jailer to your location.
Sometimes when fast forwarding to jail, the jailer is not there; this acts like the "Unstuck Jailer" option in MCM and moves the jailer to you upon your arrival to jail.
  • Added .::. Debug options in the MCM.

An MCM toggle for screen messages.

  • Added .::. More dialog with the BH and sex scenes.

Patch 6a

  • Added .::. No lockpick for you.
In hardcore mode, or if a locked DD device is removed (i.e. CD device) there will be no lockpick added anymore. You'll have to get creative to escape now.
  • Added .::. Reorganized the MCM menu for the patches.
The time is displayed in days + hours now.
  • Added .::. Idles around the pillory in Whiterun to give the jailer something to do and to keep him/her from getting in the way of your "fun". If it works well there I'll add them elsewhere.
  • Added .::. Level XP reduction, as suggested by Slorm.
  • Added .::. The skill reduction will be applied no mater how long the jail sentence is, as suggested by Slorm. (configurable in the MCM)
  • Patched .::. Changed the skill point calculation by adjusting the base value rather than the actual value, as suggested by Brommer. Seems to be working correctly now.
  • Patched .::. Misc. bugs.
Escape function firing twice sometimes.
Moved the arrest/escape functions from Xaz's main script to the patches script.

Patch 6

  • Added .::. MCM option for the bounty hunter to follow/arrest the PC indoors as well as outside
  • Added .::. Rewrote bounty hunter's AI from scratch.
When the BH gets to you, if you have a weapon drawn the BH will comment about it and ask you to put it away. If you don't BH will attack you. If you sheathe the weapon during the attack, BH will stop attacking you (if you did not attack back) and resume the force greet normally.
  • Added .::. Loosing skills during the sentence. As suggested by magicrealm.
MCM option to select after how many days in jail the PC will start loosing skills.
MCM option to select how many skill points to loose after said days.
MCM option to select how many experience points (XP) to loose after said days.
  • Added .::. MCM stats options. As suggested by twoaxemasher.
MCM option - to see for which hold bounty you are currently being hunted.
MCM option - to see the current bounty gold.
MCM option - to see how many jail days you are in for.
MCM option - to see how many days are left on your sentence.

Patch 5g

  • Patched .::. Bounty hunter will attack player on sight.
It seems that I made the bounty hunter too aggressive and he/she would attack the player before the forcegreet. This only happened on new PO installs or new games. All patched in this well, ... um patch.
  • Patched .::. Bounty hunter defeat scene.
After defeating the player the bounty hunter would start traveling towards the jail, without gloating and belittling the player first.
  • Misc. code trimming.

Patch 5f

  • Patched .::. Bounty hunter bounty consolidation.
You can now pay your bounty for The Reach to the PO bounty hunter, but if arrested you will still be taken to Solitude’s jail.
Ditto for the Winterhold and Windhelm.
  • Patched .::. Bounty hunter will arrest more reliably.
I changed the arrest code to “if states” to make sure it will execute in order and not skip some of the “if’s”.
  • Patched .::. No more single whip triggered while in the cell, or in the cage.

Patch 5e

  • Patched .::. Conflicting bounty hunter ai’s.
  • Added .::. The Reach will consolidate player’s bounty to Solitude and use the jail from Solitude.
  • Added .::. Winterhold will consolidate player’s bounty to Windhelm while sending the player to Windhelm’s jail.
  • Added .::. Ring gag during cell punishments.
  • Added .::. The bounty hunter will no longer leave behind his/hers Ebony stuff, as suggested by Kazyn.
  • Added .::. More dialog options with the bounty hunter while restrained.
  • Added .::. For moders – unspecified arresting NPC will chose a guard first then the regular NPC’s, as suggested by zaira.
  • Added .::. If player runs away from the bounty hunter, he/she will follow suit and run after the player.
  • Added .::. A MCM toggle option to remove or not remove locked DD items, i.e. CD shop items during the jail sentence.

Patch 5d

  • Added .::. Single whip. When a prisoner you might get whipped once by other NPC's.
  • Patched .::. Bounty hunter and guards not arresting you properly.
  • Added .::. Bounty hunter will treat you differently when restrained with DD's.
  • Added .::. More generic dialog.
  • Optimized .::. DD removal function.

Patch 5c

  • Added .::. Integration with other mods by using Mod Events
  • Patched .::. Gold miscalculation.
  • Added .::. A MCM menu option for the extra gold fee charged when PC is arrested.
  • Added .::. The arresting NPC will collect all the fees at the time of the arrest, leftover fees will be added to the bounty.

Patch No. 5

  • Added .::. Devious Devices support (DDa, DDi, DDx) with no dependencies.
    • So no need for DDa, DDi, DDx if you don't have any of these installed; they will not activate in the patch.
    • You might also loose all your keys, by that I mean your captor will steal them from you.

    [*]Added .::. Delayed and increased the distance to the gathering crowd as suggested by sapho888 [*]Patched .::. Weak PC dying from whipping. [*]Added .::. If the guard should die on the way to the prison, you'll get set free just as with the bounty hunter. [*]Patched .::. Guard not arresting you properly.

Patch No. 4e

  • Added .::. Pause leash forced follow while in combat. You still can't get away, because when the combat is over you get teleported back to your captor. But with this, you won't be frozen in place while a bear is chewing on your ass, you can run away, or hide behind your captor ... something other than just being frozen in place.
  • Added .::. If your captor dies while you follow, you will get set free instead of not being able to leave his/her dead body and just sit there looking silly.
  • Added .::. Re-calculation of your whip health % after the jailer strips you of your armor, as suggested by PubliusNV.
  • Added .::. More random dialog.

  1. The first branch of the dialog is activated after each cell whipping.
  2. The second branch after your follower has his/her way with you in the pillory. When you get back to the cell, there will be an intro dialog branch, then after each punishment in the cell.

  • Patched .::. Gold calculation when escaped, and increased the penalty to 1000.
  • Patched .::. No punishments given. It works in my tests most of the time. I'm sure more testing, bug hunting is required.

Using a mod manager uninstall old one, and install this one overwriting everything.

  • Patched .:. "Player has escaped" spamming.
  • Fixed .:. No punishment happening while in the pillory, this is more of a patch of the previous patch, more patching might be required. CK decided not to compile one of my scripts.
  • Added .:. More dialog.

 

Next Patch

  • Navmesh out the space around the pillories so the jailer won't keep trying to walk right through them.
  • IDK more bug killing.

Patch No. 3


Until V.034 comes out, here is another patch.
Changes.

  • Navmeshed out the two punishment cages so the whole town won't congregate there inside with you, during your "surprise".
  • Fixed the bounty hunter not attacking when he/she finds you. Also used vanilla BH voicing when the BH is male, well um .. Nord male.
  • Fixed the whipping (again), this time by adding a timer for the duration of the whipping, configurable in MCM
  • Probably more I don't remember atm.

 

Install

 

 

Uninstall previous patch -- if using it -- and install this one using a mod manager of your choosing.


Known Bug

  • The BH has a grey head, not sure how to fix that, maybe xaz can help me? :blush:
  • I tried the ctrl F4 with no success. :@

At first the patches were getting buried in the PO support thread, so I made a separate support thread, well that too started to get buried, so I was persuaded to make its own download page.

I had a problem with the latest patch.... Suddenly all people are commenting as if I was arrested (which I wasn't). Reverting to patch 5b solves the issue.

Glad to see this patch got it's own download page.


 


Inte, I've had one issue with PO for the last couple of releases and wondered if it's just on my end or if it's a larger issue with the mod.  Here is what happens.


 


If I'm arrested in Dawnstar, Windhelm or Morthal as a first arrest my character stays in the cell for the full length of the prison sentence.  This is because there are no outdoor punishments in these cities.  Mod is behaving correctly.


 


Later, if I'm arrested in a city with an outdoor punishment like Riften, Falkreath or Whiterun my character is punished both indoors and outdoors.  So far the mod is working as it should.


 


Now here is the issue.  If I'm arrested a third time, say at Dawnstar (any place without outdoor punishment) my character is sent to the last city I spent jail time with during the daytime for outdoor punishment such as Falkreath.  After the outdoor punishment my character will be sent back to the arresting city, in this scenario, Dawnstar.


 


It doesn't do anything harmful like crash the game it's just very immersion breaking.  Has anyone else had this issue?  Can it be fixed?

Tried Patches and for now works really fine.


 


I just found 2 issues.


Both follower and prisoner seems to exit the cage during the iarl scene (the one that got crowded before the patch)....few console commande gets back both in the cage without breaking anything.


I have EFF (extensible follower framework) installed that makes followers wander around when idle.. don't know if is its fault.


 


second thing is slave collar from "deviously cursed loot"


Seems jailer when jailer unequips it, Dcur reequip it going into a loop (can be unequipped with DCur debug mcm option to end the loop).


Possible requires jailer to terminate the proper quest stage in order to unequip safely as the mcm option dcur does.


 


Don't know if you can help or should i tell that to the author of dcur.. both Xpo and Dcur mods are really popular so i guess would be nice if could be fixed (if not mcm will help anyway).

I suspected that something like that might happen with DCL. Kimy's DD's are deviously delicious and as soon as they get a taste, they won't let you go. :P

This happened with 5d? Also, is it just with the slave collar?

Bug Report:


 


Character submitted to arrest in the outdoor worldspace. I used the Fast Forward feature to skip straight to the prison. In the prison, nothing happens. The jailer is there, and I expect the player character to surrender their belongings, but nothing happens. It's also not possible to move the character.


 


I let the game sit for many minutes without anything happening. Only way forward is to use the Wait feature. After waiting an hour, it will work.

Yeap, that is Skyrim NPC path finding. Sometimes the jailer cannot find a good path to you, go in MCM - Debug - Unstuck Jailer.
