Specific external location CTD (How Original !)

Ok, I have come across a bizzar problem.

I know a lot of people have experienced something similar but I failed to find any solution. My PC is on Soulstheim. I just killed the zombie general and I am returning to the city following the coast line. Soon enought I find a chest next to wich is an east empire box, guarded by a burned sprigan. The problem is:

 

Every single time I try to get close to the chest, the game crashes. Every single time ! (exterior cell change?)

 

I have found a similar problem to this (especially going down the staris from Dragonreach) but never gave much of a fuck as after a few attempts it would manage to get pass it. Not this time though. It crashes every single time !!

Also got HDT but the logs are clear.

 

Have 3 folowers: Serana and 2 custom ones. Told Serana to (politely) go fuckherself but it still crashes with two folowers. So it's not that.

 

Any help would be greately appresiated.

I just solve a similar problem with CTDs, and my problem was caused by HDT equipment, how I found the problem was look at all mods that could change the area, starting with things that alter the place, then people and monsters that are in this place

HDT runs as smooth as a baby's skin :-)

 

I dont blame you. You are new here. To put you up to speed, when a problem happens in my game (although moded to the point of F.U.B.A.R) is going to be the most fucked up most unlikely thing you have ever heard.

 

To be honest, I think I fixed it. I have already looted that chest (and you are right, turnes out it had crap in it), but I want to play a bit more to make sure.

well i'm not saying that your problem is with HDT haha but yeah shit happens

last week the damage of my weapons changed to 0 only when I went into combat, when I was out of combat they returned back to normal

in the end... I had to start over

So I started updating everything that might cause this, (and was out of date) to see if I had any luck. Updated FNIS to the latest...no luck.

Updated all Unoficiall patched to the latest...no luck. BUT, When I loaded the game with the updated patched, i notice that i got the message "Completed: Breylinas Practise" !!!

This is a quest from the colledge of winterhold that I did AGEEEEEEs ago. Why the hell did I get the message now. Come to think of it the game did seem that it was "strugling". Pick up sounds where laging sometime, game was generaly lagging sometimes... So I though that maybe there are scriptes that are pilled up waiting to run but they havent had the time yet, although there are no loose scripts or save bloat. 

So I just waited 24 in game hours. 

Done, fixed everything. Game is rock solid now. Well, since its Skyrim we can settle for clay solid  .

 

So the sollution:

1. Updated The unofficial patches

2. Wait 24h in game.

 

And I am not sure if "1" is required.
