Been learning to Mod for a couple months, still can get things stable

Started to seriously mod at the beginning of March. 


learned most things from the Gamer Poets & Gopher video series on youtube. Used the STEP guide as a basic guideline.


My machine is strong enough to run all the DLCs with the high resolution, and can handle quite a few NPCs in screen at once, but slows down if I add higher res visual mods.


Did complete uninstall & re-install of both Skyrim and Stream. They have been placed outside of the "system" folders.


I use a save file that has just the bare minimal mods on it to test any new ones I'm trying to use.


 


Right now the problems I've been having are:


  1. I crash whenever I try to enter the Temple of kynareth in Whiterun.
  2. Clothing, armor, & NPCs will be blue as if they're missing textures. This is not consistent at all, it's never the exact same charcter, item, or animal. You can quicksave & quickload, enter & exit the area, reload the main save, or even fast travel away and back and it may or may not fix the problem.
  3. Sometimes followers won't bring up any dialogue box at all after you have them follow with EFF. I even tried dismissing everyone with group commands and they still tagged along with no way to interact with them. These aren't the fancy pants ones either, it's just the vanilla and the custom body mods with no new VOs or quests and junk like that.

 


Every damn time I think I've got things just right, I end up running across a huge bug, keep crashing early on after starting a new character, or loot messes up everything beyond salvage.


I've started over about 6 or 7 times now. I would have quit the whole damn thing if I didn't already put so much free time into this.

I have 2 Papyrus logs and included them in the zip. I took a look at then and couldn't  figure out anything; it's just a huge wall of text :/


 


I hope this is enough info. It seems I'm not that great at serious computer stuff.

I could think in several reasons, but the true is that is not the right way to do modding. You can't just install dozen of mod and try to fix all of them at the same time. 
Do a clean installation of vanilla skyrim, and start again, one by one. Even if your are using STEP as baseline, do it little by little. That way you will be dealing with errors and fixing one by one.

Try to do everything at the same time, is not advisable for a novice modder.

I never said I just put everything in all at once.

The handful of mods I already use I've been running for a good 50+ hours with no problems; and are things like glitch fixes, patches, and hud UI tweaks. The only time I turn on more than 1 new mod at a time is when either the main mod or a needed patch for it comes as an installer and asks what other mods will be used. If I need to install a patch for something that something needs to also be installed and active or the game will crash on loading.

You have listed several problem, a cell incompatibility when you enter Temple of kynareth, missing textures probably due to wrong install directories or not installed at all and a compatibility problem with EEF. Forgive me, but I don't believe you when you said that you install one by one and run the game for 50 hours without problem.
You should have seen the missing texture immediately after you start playing, the same with the dialog problem with EFF, the only problem you could miss is the Kynareth one, because it require for you to enter the temple..

Please, do a clean install and start from the beginning...

If you dont want to do that, then check ALL the texture mod you installed and see if the relative path of the texture is the correct one. And see and check your EFF installation for compatibilities.
