Fallout 4! In like 4 1/2 months, its real.

Does anyone know where I can pick this video up? I would like to watch the E3 for Fallout 4 again, It seems you need a youtube account to watch it. As in verify age crap.

Add nsfw in front of the youtube and you'll be taken to a lovely embedded version that doesn't inflate Google's account numbers.

Like so: http://www.nsfwyoutube.com/watch?v=bWuwLSFmATI

Also: not paying more than $5.00 for this.

If this implementation follows through and revenue drops, it's going to bite them in the ass real hard. By doing this they are putting their reputation at a high risk from the pc gamers perspective. And that's why I'm going to wait and wait until I see it's official or not official.

Fallout will not be the same if that happens and it will definitely be the end of the line for me.

@joemonco

I just wanted to download it so I can watch it later and I already did since I can't do it through twich.

releasing moding tools and have them free sells your game

Yeah everybody thought Bethesda understands that until the Paid Mods-Fiasco on Steam happened. Now i'm not so sure if Bethesda really understands what's going on.

Anyway i'm not worrying to much over things we don't know yet and can't change anyway.

the only thing that matters in that case is the bottem line.

if they make more money with payed mods than with free they will make payed mods happen.

so its oure choice, just dont pay for mods and they will be free.

As a small Disclaimer, i want to say that i'm working in Marketing. Not online Marketing, more the classical Stuff, Newspaper- and TV-Advertisement. And every Time a potential Client says something along the line of "We will see how much revenue this Ad gets us" i want to break into a Rant.

You can't put a number on Advertisement because you will never know how many people would never have bought your product without the Ad. There are predictions and assumptions but that's it.

Same goes for Mods, and adversely also Piracy. A Dev doesn't know how many Games the Modding Community sold for him and a Dev doesn't know how many Games Piracy has lost him. He can make assumptions but it may well be the wrong assumptions.

[Edit: Aaand i broke into a stupid Rant. Sorry.]

That may be so, but if this monetize system follows through, you think pc gamers are going to want to spend money on a product that is going to be half broken? Purchase unofficial patches because lets face it, Bethesda makes broken patches on top of their broken game and an unofficial patch is critically essential. This is certainly a corrupt way for a script team to come in and pretty much force everyone to buy a patch or deal with a broken product. Lock down on purchasing Script Editors to get the work done, spend extra cash for DLCs that don't guarantee you stability, nor compatibility with other mods.

This market scheme may work with other things, but for mods will not. Modders are not professionals. Most modders probably never worked in customer service. It's already bad enough most of them on Nexus ignore a bunch of comments as is. So what do you think will happen when hundreds of mod users are spamming an author through PMs demanding a fix?

If this follows through Bethesda.net, odds are mod creators are going to either get a 50% cut, but no higher. I don't see a greedy corporation giving the opportunity to modders to get a good cut out of it.

All this will do is cause another backlash and open a whole new level of piracy.

Dayum tho, so far it looks pretty good doesn't it ?

Okay dialogue system's gonna need some learning curve, and I'm not sure I'm that much into voiced main char, just makes voiced quest mods creation harder ... Absolutely flabbergasted by the models, Bethesda actually managing something else than potatoes ? Holy shaite. And I said nothing about filters, that lighting more than makes up for the lack of "wasteland" atmosphere in the coloring. The husband wife thing is kind of a shame though, yeah, looking at the trailer it's more probable that you play a widow, yet I just can't help but think that somewhere down in the story line you'll get the chance to see your family again, looks like that kind of scenario. Probably choices to make, and bad ones result in you seeing your family die or something. Totally Bethesda-like.

Honestly, I would like to see mods, but if not, I'll be bummed but I still have fo3 and skyrim for that.

As for fo4 I just hope for dual wielding one handed.

After the reveal trailer I was kinda skeptical but now I'm warming up to it. That's just to show how much of an atrocious job they did with that trailer. And once crappy meshes and low-res textures will be modded I'm sure it'll even be a stunner. I'm actually glad that my character will finally be able to talk.

Since I'm more of a stealthy player I hope that customization won't be exclusively for power armors. That's about the only thing that ticked me off (apart from those terrible textures and models, though by now I don't really expect much from them on that aspect, at least animation seems to have improved since Skyrim and looks like facial expressions are finally in).

I'm not sure but there might be hair physics in game. If you look at the part where daddy goes and see's his baby, his wife tilts her head and you can see hair movement.

I like how now Power Armor feels like a Power Armor not some simple suit.

Whoever wore it. It was a force to be reckoned with.

think i'll be giving this one a miss after so many buggy games Beth release what looks like a dumbed down FPS, the voiced character -no thanks, the UI doesn't impress no skills ???? and to be honest I'm sick of paying for broken games that modder's have to fix,I've overlooked this since Oblivion to Skyrim and i think despite the hype i'll be voting with my wallet. the next Mount and Blade looks more PC friendly it comes out in September

Bethesda.net:

DRM & paid mods because they want and they can. Otherwise, they'd continue using Steam.

Voiced protagonist:

More dumbing down! "How about I do.........." type of dumbing down for idiots who couldn't figure out the already retarded puzzles in Skyrim.

Didn't see anything new apart from the face molding system and more elaborate crafting system. Not buying if this comes out with yet another mandatory digital distribution system. How many are there now? Steam, EA, Battlenet, Ubisoft..... Microsoft will probably revive a version of the dreaded GfWL with Windows 10... What happened to buying CDs and downloading patches off publisher sites, instead of being forced to install crap on my computer, all of which want to run at startup.

Actually CD's/DVD's were just one of those technologies which were really just a stop gap measure. In this day and age, physical copies really should just be distributed on a stick. (But 90%+ is going to be via download, so let GOG keep the faith).

Dumbed FPS? Isn't all fps dumb? With some QTE in-between? How can you make FPS to be more fun? What offers borderlands? Why people play this game? In the gameplay I've seen there is more interaction during the fights, QTEs , commands ( for dog and probly for companions ), very well done fast travel mechanic ( which I suppose this is how it works ).

Also freaking animations are so smooth, in-game building , new lighting system , voiced character , sculp-mode for editing characters ,new crafting system, power armour that makes you feel like a terminator. Its also customizable and there is an animation for equipping it.

About VO, I've always wanted it. I like how they aproached a Mass Effect style. It helps you to get along with the main character.

Games and franchises needs a change otherwise they get stale. With F4 they nailed a lot of good stuff and they kept their premises.

We might be switching evils, but removing Steam out of the mix is a GOOD THING if everything is handled through Beth.net.  FUCK STEAM.

IF Bethesda tries to control modding (DRM, forced to upload to them exclusively, they own everything modded, etc.) I foresee our Russian or Chinese counterparts on other sites CRACKING FO4 wide open and subverting all of that.

As far as modding goes, they have to have an editor to make the game itself.  I guess user end modding will depend on what portion of that editor we get...or if we get one at all.  I've looked at 'the wife' a few times in the video and she's not a bad base to start with for making a female character.  If anything, using their editor to make new presets or change the stock ones shouldn't be that hard.

And this might have been only for the promo or maybe just the tutorial part of the game, but it looked like the wife had different animations than the husband.  I HOPE that's true, since the man-anims on every human character in Skyrim (including old women and children!) was total shit.  I hope they go back to the FO3 model and give females and kids their own animations.

Don't see where you got that paid mods only platform at. I can see them selling some huge mods on Bethesda.net instead of allowing Steam to host them, but they also advocate free mods. Hence, only people who want their mods to be sold can sell them, and it'd be retarded to promote in one hand modders by allowing them to work like real developers and get coin for it, while at the same time keeping them all in the same workshop. They want it to spread, so allowing mods hosting across blogs and Nexus while centering the paid mods on Beths is actually the smartest move.

Plus with the whole shitstorm some weeks ago, and the huge plebiscite CDPR is getting thanks to their no DRM/free DLCs etc policy, the tides are changing. Doing what you guys describe is a business suicide, and we can say whatever the hell we want about Zeni and Beth's top hats, they still know better than to sink their own boat in shit.

Plus keeping their whole maneuver out of Steam is a bonus, now Valve's tainted in the modding department with their last naive tentative, placing the same paid mods platform but on their website is a bit like changing names when your psycho ex girlfriend is out for your blood.

I really like the dynamic lighting in this game. They've come to their senses about not using the stupid image space tint. If Fallout 3 had this it would of looked amazing, but this is a new gen game with a huge step up in their Creation Engine. I'm really impressed. They really nailed it with the wasteland atmosphere here. Just real eyecandy.

I was thinking maybe Bethesda is just branching off with Valve after the incident in late April. The thing is FO4 is on STEAM. This could all be new to Valve about Bethesda.net and Beth is pulling a sneaky and fast one on them. To tell you the truth, Bethesda doesn't need Valve. They are a very large corporation and can do well on their own. I hope that is the case and not a whole new platform to DRM mods.

Makes me think Bethesda knew the monetize thing and Skyrim was not going to work and just give Valve a bad name. Make it easier for them to just go their own way and retry monetize on their own. hmm... I hate speculating this but that Bethesda.net has  my head itchy.
