IF there are paid mods.................IF

I'd imagine that it'd have to be a bundle that is totally integrated that is known to work...Like straight away without fuss so as to not piss off console gamers.

Like say FWE without the crashes.

That's a big IF guys, and they really would have to get mod makers to support that...

With other Developers announcing an interest in getting into the mod action to make their games more popular and successful that's an equation I don't see Beth wanting to disturb.

Now if we can just procurr an early title for us mod makers to make stuff with :D

-----------------------------

They are adopting a Learn as you Do system, which has been fairly popular.  It's actually even got a mod for it now with FNV.......Skyrim system style is just better for a lot of players and its actually an old school alternative if you consider Wasteland 1.

I hope they will still use the nif for graphics in their "New Creation Engine" (most likely, they will). I love NifSkope

So Bethesda and Microsoft are allowing mods to be used in the XBOXONE version of Fallout 4. As it goes the PC version of a mod can be used directly on the XBOXONE. But is it down to the creator of so called mod to allow for it to be used on XBOXONE or PC only. Just wonder how many mods will be allowed to be installed on the XBOXONE version. But suppose all will be good to run them as with Windows 10 just around the corner, so suppose cross platform.

I really do believe Beth likes the fact there is a huge mod community behind their games and would like to keep that. But I see both ends of the spectrum, the modding community work hard on what they do and should be compensated. As well as Beth wanting some of the profit because who doesn't like money.

Nope, in Fact Todd Howard said that mods will be free on Fo4,

Did he? I'm not being obtuse here, maybe i missed something and i'm seriously asking. All i heard was them saying the PORTING of PC Mods to Consoles is Free.

Opinions are one thing, but spewing hatred because you don't like Bethesda is a different matter and is exactly what the "Rant Thread" was made for not cluttering up decent threads  like this or at least started out to be because you think your opinion everyone else should share. opinions are just that and matter to the one that has that opinion where others may or may not share it. hatred we are not born with it is something taught and shouldn't be. the same things were said about every bethesda game that has ever been made because some people just love to jump on a band wagon of hate because they need that conflict in there lives. Others do not. Ranting and bitching is better suited for the Rant Thread and you can discuss it to your hearts content. This kind of thing has made all to many threads completely irrelevant.

Sounds like someone is blinded by their own hatred..

But by all means, keep tossing ad-hominems around and pretending that you are a force for positive and gainful interaction.

On the other hand, I don't really see, how mods on console would work. Consoles are closed systems (the XBox at least) and I don't see them developing essential tools like LOOT, MOD Organizer or TESEdit for them, which are essential for a stable experience.

That answer is somewhat poorly..

It was tried before, EPIC did it with Unreal Tournament 3 (PS3 version only, they could not secure a deal with Microsoft), and it was not well recived. PC modders felt they were beeing exploited as free labour to prop up the console version, PS3 players hardly made use of it, and for the mods themselves, developing a mod that could work on the PS3 version was a serious limitation, there was a lot of cool stuff modders coulden't do with cross-platform mods as the PS3 would not be able to handle it.

That's the only real-world example i can point to, and it was not precisely a success story. In the end, EPIC ended up only getting mods for the PS3 version by forcing MSUC contenders to make their mods with the PS3 in mind (whilst they did not expressly state that a PS3 version was required for MSUC participation, they made it very clear that participating mods had to fill that requirement to stand any chance of winning the contest).

Well it's good to know we're not allowed to have an opinion of anything.

Everyone's allowed an opinion, even me. And mine is that if people base their opinions on nothing at all but their own paranoia and whatever else they can dream up if they're really reaching to keep the hate going, I get to call them bullshit opinions. People get to have them, I don't have to respect them.

This actually had me raise an Eyebrow rather confusedly during the Stream.

Well my opinion is, if you haven't played Fallout or Fallout 2 seven times a piece with multiple character builds ranging from pacifist to idiot savant you are not qualified to discuss what Fallout has become and you should get off my lawn.

Apart from the whole liking the philosophy & sexual innuendo of this thread. I'm going to have to agree with you.

WTF is up with all the audience cheers? Not at any specific point specifically, but just what is up with them cheering full stop?, (and not because the presentation was bad or good). I don't understand. Maybe it's a European thing in the not understanding the whole random cheering thing.

After having watched the E3 presentation, i'm less excited and more worried than ever :-/

The lack of skills is pretty bad, but Skyrim did the same thing.

And it did a pretty good job of it.

Everything else looks so good and interesting, and can see the oppurtunities the build your own town has for establishing a slave center or mega brothel/prostitution ring!

Where did you see anything about lacking skills? We definitely saw the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system but he didn't say anything about skills one way or the other.

Look at the gameplay stuff again, especially this: http://assets.vg247.com/current//2015/06/fallout_4_e3_2015_14.jpg

If you look closely, you can see that there's only SPECIAL and perks (assuming it's going to be a Skyrim perks thing) in FO4.

Well, they are happy to be there, happy to hear about fallout 4, and happy in general to be there in the audience watching what they've been waiting for a while.

They're happy and enthousiastic => They cheer.

Can be a cultural thing but is it superweird? (i'm honestly asking, to me it's like "of course", but i can get why it's not for everyone the same, i just wonder if it's honestly weird for other people to cheer when glad/enthousiastic/happy?)

It's rare you come across a non-American who's not aware of the infamous, over enthusiastic American clapping at everything and everyone meme.

Superweird is not really where I was going. But you do have a point. It's probably cultural. I was probably brought up on an endorsement being at the end of a presentation, (if worthy). Maybe other cultures go on a point by point basis within a presentation. Both sort have their positive and negative aspects.

(Mind I find TV quiz contestants clapping themselves for correct answers weird).

I do wonder what does console compatability mean for mods...

Will it be harder to make them or even limit what can be made?

Well... it's weird to get that enthusiastic specifically about a game presentation, if anything.

Or perhaps it's not weird at all, and we're merely grim fucks.

I don't understand why you'd have doubts, it's been unofficially verified for a long time now. Not only a main Bethesda title of the Fallout/TES series always had this level of customization, but Kotaku had evidence of casting for voice acting for both the male and female player character.
