Fallout 4! In like 4 1/2 months, its real.

I'm not surprised that the game has high requirements and actually there are reviewer's out there that expected much higher min req's.

See what happened is that the consoles really help people that don't want to be caught up in constantly upgrading computer parts.  The other thing is if your like me and play BSG games on computer almost exclusively to everything else well...  The news is the XBOX 1 a new console came out dun dun dun.  Means that since Fo4 is on that the system reqs are not going to be close to that of Skyrim cant believe people thought or suggested that these would be its nuts.

The real issue about playing a game like Skyrim almost exclusively with mods for what is it 4 or 5 years is that we ignore the advancements going on outside of our genre.

Stuff happened, anyway there is a very vocal group of people that get all mad about how low the reqs are both on Steam and Youtube channels.

The 600 series could have been the declared min for graphics card and still squeezed by I imagine.

Hopefully there will be overhauls like skyrim had for low end computers and everyone can be happy.

I figure that compared to the other games in 2015 Fo4 reqs are very reasonable and for a open world game its kinda surprising as it is.  Might even be amazed who knows.  Like anyone else I just want to play and be happy.

If the game doesn't have Gamesworks options BSG will catch flak from gamers in the long run for sure.  I hope it will have options for longevity I mean we all love this series or some of us do anyway.

Well there are sites that "rip" content from the game. I suppose if you really want her to have a few lines in a mod you could "rip' them from the game as well. Maybe some of the catch phrases etc she states.

"Mess with someone's head enough, you can turn a scared little kid into an all powerful bitch."

"That was mean. But damn funny."

"Shit, you sound like a pussy."

"I like her. Are we still recruiting?" (you know when you recruit the female companion option in FO4. Take a look at our mods and you know where that can be placed. :P)

"Don't get killed dumbass! When this is over... I'm getting laid..." (another gem)

".You're shitting me!"

"I'm not nearly drunk enough for that."

"Now take your balls out of your purse and kick some ass."

"Not so fast, Cheerleader. Nobody wants to take orders from you"

Now some of those lines might be great in a mod :) All that is needed is a female voice actress. :)

You do know that the voice actress that plays the female protagonist is the same that played Jack in Mass Effect? So really should be able to just transfer Jack's lines in and add it to the female protagonist's voice and it won't feel too out of place if done right.

It will also be an illegal mod you'll get banned off Nexus for, so bewarned.

To be sure, this is the kind of mod we don't want either.

Mass Effect is one of those games you get in trouble for hosting modifications for, otherwise we would see a lot more for the game than we ever have.

I understand the nature of Ripped Mods... However I didn't know it was the same person. I am sure (hope) that there are some lines that could work for Fallout 4. If they are in the game it is legitimate to use for a mod ;).

Yep..Something most sites wouldn't stand for...  It would be a personal quest and project for Mogie.. However there are sites that do have Mass Effect rips however mostly they are texture/meshes not voiced lines. OH and Nexus does have rips on them.. always have and many stay for a very long time without being removed... I am sure Kendo can explain why some members can post rips and other cant.. :P

The same can be said about posting public images on Nexus of ripped mods while some people get banned for it and others don't.

Rather than anything sinister, it's most likely a problem with people not reporting, and staff not being able to see everything. We may have different styles from some people on Nexus staff but the practical issues remain largely the same. Both piracy and mod theft exist on both sites, there's no avoiding it. The only alternative would be to spend countless hours comparing every mod's assets with those of ever mod and ever game in existence. Of course, Nexus is not as perfect at keeping their site clean of it as they'd like you to believe, and we're not as crappy at it as the image some people paint of us would lead you to believe either. All you can really hope for is try to be consistent in how you handle the issues that are reported at least.

Today Pete Hines mentioned mods being hosted through Bethesda.net. He implied you could (and may have to) upload directly from the creation kit to that site. if this is the case it essentially kills LL and Nexus. that being said i suspect he was referring to mods for all platforms. if you want a PC only mod then it should be fine and i doubt that Bethesda would lockdown on the modding community like that

There is nothing sinister about "Our interpretation of the rules, not yours."

If someone reports stolen or ripped content at Nexus they had better be prepared to show proof.  Even when it's obvious the content is ripped or stolen they want a side by side comparison and they ARE NOT going to be the ones investigating things on their own.  They insist the person reporting it do all of the work for them, otherwise they will claim the reporter is making a false accusation.  They can't be bothered with it and the attitude of the staff is one of the reasons why things go unreported.

Even with a side by side comparison they are still going to do whatever they want to do and FUCK THE WRITTEN RULES.  I showed the Nexus staff proof positive that BlackBlossom is the biggest mod thief in the history of modding.  I gave them side by side comparisons, copies of PMs between mod authors showing what she stole and from whom, everything.  They had it all and in the end BlackBlossom was banned for less than three days.  All they did was make her change (as in add) credits and they hid almost all of her mods because they had stolen content in them.  So yeah, nothing sinister going on other than "Our interpretation of the rules, not yours."

But pointing out the obvious about how CHICKEN SHIT D0rk0ne and his staff of stooges are has nothing to do with FO4.

Well as I (also) suspected (http://stevivor.com/2015/10/fallout-4-mods-to-be-handled-via-bethesda-net-can-only-be-created-on-pc-according-to-pete-hines/) Fallout 4 mods won't be on STEAM.

This is slowly starting to turn for the worse for me if what I've said in the past all comes true...

I think they have two things in their mind, money from mods, which they don't want to share with Valve and mods for consoles, means more money from mods.

Yeah, I called this one too.  Too bad the game is still going to require a STEAM install.  Cutting them out the picture completely would be a god-send.

Even if they replace it with a Bethesda DRM client?

Cool,

First Mod I'm downloading is the one that changes the size and location of that UI interruption element >< god dang who did that for real?

I'll probably just unpack the BSA and find a way to delete or blank that crap out.

Other than that want to play.

Neither DRM clients are ever good. I don't like STEAM, but either case this just gives Bethesda full control of mods, which is a good and bad thing. Bad for us if we are ruled out from uploading anything like here on LL. And if mods are locked down, it's the end of my days with Bethesda games. TES6 will suffer the same consequences.

Give me a little bit of optimism endgameaddiction, maybe it will not be so bad. Maybe we will be able to distribute (and use) "not bethesda.net mods".

We still have a couple of weeks for the game, and a few months before the modding possibilities will be clear.

Well, I can't help but be skeptical about it, but I am hanging on the last thread of hope here. I'm chomping on my nails and hoping that it's all just a bad dream.

But as the days get closer so does our anticipation. For most of us anyways.

I think it's extremely unlikely beth.net will be the only place where mods can be uploaded. It will probably just have the monopoly on the distribution of mods for console, and possibly paid mods down the line.

*shrugs*  I don't think FO4 modding is going to be what people are anticipating and hoping for.  I think Bethesda is going to force a change in the modding atmosphere.  I'll leave it at that since all I have are insinuations and no facts.

Achievements and Trophy list was leaked to IGN.  Most interesting entries include "The Nuclear Option", "Homerun" and "Touchdown".

Edit:   Sorry Dr. Sax but it was extremely unlikely that beth would introduce paid mods to Skyrim without expecting people to get really pissed off.  Someone there is A) totally disconnected from their players, B) doesn't give a rip, C) both.

Edit 2:  I'm with Kendo on this; the sharks can smell the blood, and they will look for a way to get to whatever it is that is bleeding.  (Yes, I'm using a metaphor for corporate greed. Clearly I'm now a hippy.)

They tried. Miserably failed. And they will do it again.

Money is what makes the world go around (was not the pussy? shit, I have to post this in a different site...)

Some gameplay reveals there you can easily infer;

Reach Maximum Happiness in a Large Settlement

The people you attract to your settlements have a "happiness" rating that changes depending on what you do, probably depending on what sort of trade routes you can establish, if they have all the necessities, casualties from raiders, deathclaws and the like, etc. Will be like first-person Sim City. I wonder if they can riot if you get to the absolute negative. Probably.

Reach Maximum Relationship Level with a Companion

This could be similar to how Obsidian did it, do things that a companion likes, get enough relationship and you get access to a loyalty quest of some kind, do that and the companion gets new abilities or gets more tough and unlocks romance if it's not there to begin with. One companion at a time hurts this sort of deal, imagine you had one good and one evil companion and they'd bicker and want you to do two separate things on a mission, especially if this good and evil companion are two that works really well tacitcally. Otherwise you will probably end up on later playthroughs think that you need this guy for that quest to get approval, this guy for that quest, etc if you want to unlock all of them for some reason. However there's no achievement for like all of them at the same time or the like. Honestly I'm hoping they'll veer towards ME2 here, you can talk to them about stuff, they have quests of their own, but they don't care too much unless you are attacking like their faction, they're not going to disapprove of you bullying a raider or executing some guy that had it coming or doing something needed to finish a mission. But I'm thinking it's more like "Yeah I'll help if you lick my balls." *Dogmeat disapproves*

Collect 20 Vault-Tec Bobbleheads

Bobbleheads are back obviously, and there's at least 20 of them. 7 SPECIAL stats, skills are gone, what do they do? I'm really hoping they give unique perks, not attainable any other way, some small ability or bonus rather than something you could have gotten by being level 100 or whatever.
