SKSE Problems

I am currently having a problem with the SKSE and AVG. I mod my Skyrim game heavily, and without SKSE, obviously none of those mods will work. And for the past year, I have gone smoothly through my modding experience with barely any bumps or bad things happening. Until now, unfortunately.

 

All of a suddenly my computer protection program, called AVG, has decided that SKSE is now a threat and must be removed, of which it did. So I try to download it again, but AVG blocks the download. I then put it on the exceptions list, and continue the download. It installs, everything seems fine, then I load up the game, and SURPRISE! I need the SKSE loader. The only option is to look for it myself. So I find it, I click on it, and now I can't do anything with it because it is a dll file or something. It brings up "more options", but I am not even sure where that will bring me. The whole thing's a mess.

 

So, I have two questions: What the hell do I do with a dll file, and what is a dll file?

Why are you using AVG? they TOTALLY SUCK!

 

The only two antivirus that are any good are kaspersky and eset.

 

McCrappy and norton are complete crap that couldn't catch a cold let alone a virus all they do is drain system resources and scan your computer forever.

 

AVG free version is really crappy on purpose so you will try paying them instead for their paid version but it doesn't matter they just suck and can't make a good av ever.

 

Either get kaspersky antivirus or eset smart security and forget about AVG.

Look, I really don't own this computer. It is not like I can just change the system without their permission.

 

I have heard billions of times that AVG sucks. I wish I could get rid of it, but I can't. ANyways, I know the real problem of the matter.

 

When I go  to install the SKSE files and such, more some random a#$ reason it doesn't download the SKSE loader/launcher, so it won't work.

 

Everything else is downloaded except for the most crucial part. Why, and is their a way for me to get it into my SKSE files?

They have an installer version that you could install instead of the compressed file version. Might try that and see if AVG ignores the file extracting during install.

You should also be able to write in an exception to skse, too.
Even shitty anti-virus programs have a way to enter exceptions to their heuristics.

Trust is good, control is better!     
I also have several antivirus programs on my PC and have thus already several Mods to Nexus discovered which were infested with viruses!
also here at LL was the case, I have notified this to the moderators and lo and behold these mods have disappeared very quickly.

now there is a moderator on my Friends List.
