What happened to the topic "I just don't understand how people do it. (character creation)" ?

What happened to the topic? It got deleted? I see a ton of notifications about responses to the thread, but clicking it gives an error.

one of the staff members removed it because there was too much bickering. I felt those posts should of been removed. Poor guy probably lost faith by now because of the negativity.

Kinda figured that's what happened. Hopefully, the OP of that thread got the help he needed. It looks like he was making progress.

uhhh i honestly will never understand that request? why do people have so much trouble creating their character and need to ask for help?

Wouldn't it better to just make him/her after yourself or after a personal fantasy/imagination? i think that asking in this case removes all purpose of character creation on your own computer.

Aren't you having a hard time with your character? It's okay to ask for advice.

The problem is putting personal grudge over one method because you someone chooses to do it a different way. Neither way is entirely wrong. It's all a matter of the way you they want to go with it. One thing is giving facts and another stating personal likes and dislikes trying to convince such person that one way is the only true way to make a character look good. There isn't one true texture replacer that makes characters look better. There isn't one true tool to create good looking characters. It's all subjective. I mean some people like to hold on to the vanilla appearance and do some simple edits. There's nothing wrong with that. Some people like to get as far away from the vanilla appearance as possible. There's nothing wrong with that either. It's how you want it to be, not others.

Same with mod managers. Even though I have stated MO is better (which it truly is), but some people are just comfortable with using their original mod manager, or manually installing. Nothing is going to change their mind except themselves.

But there's nothing wrong with asking for advice. Especially if you are very new to creating characters.

I think it's only natural to occasionally hit a creative stumbling block while attempting to execute that idea. And sometimes, it may require an outside influence to find that needed inspiration. In return, that can give the creator a fresh perspective on their work while giving them motivation to improve said work.

In this case, that's where the community comes in to help someone accomplish their goal of creating a character that they can be satisfied with. And there's nothing wrong with that, in my opinion.

It's just like in the requests threads, the only reason is just plain laziness. That's just about it. They want everything handed to them on a silver platter. We have a saying for people like that in Chinese: "公主病" which literally translates into "the princess disease".

You may make the argument of any said person who wants something done for them because they don't know how to do it but that's called the learning process. Learn, fail, rinse and repeat until you're totally happy with what you have achieved.

There may be people that disagree with me on this, you're welcome to message me, but note, if you're gonna be vile, don't bother, I'm not gonna respond to hate.

how is any of what i said unfair to the learning process? i already said that outside help to get started and inspired by is fine. if anything hinders learning it's them not even trying to experiment. practical exp is the most useful.

P.S i have zero clue to what "vile" thing you may be referring to because i am never like it.

I never said unfair to the learning process. I was referring to the people that you refer to as 'no not like that Zombi. i mean only for those that don't do anything and want a entire preset done for them. tweak ideas or as you said inspiration are completely alright. ' And the second paragraph was me trying to play devil's advocate ( which I apparently cannot do :/ )

And the vile comment was for anyone who was reading and disagreed with me. I know there are many, many vocal and toxic players in our community. I was warning them, not specifically you.

Well, there is a difference in between helping someone and enabling someone. And I only want to help the ones that want to help themselves first. Otherwise what's the point, if there's no progress to be made?

Lol... that was my topic. I had no idea it was deleted.

I didn't notice any bickering either. All that must of happened after I made my last post, as I stopped visiting the topic after that.

And yes, I was quite satisifed with how my character turned out... thanks to some of the tips people left.
