Severe fps loss near npc(s), none when not near any.

So, I noticed I get fps drop near an npc, and a LOT near multiple, as in I get 5-6 frames when inside an inn. I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand?

If I remember correctly, papyrus only generates a log when you CTD, and that is not my issue so...

 

Also SKSE version is Beta build 1.7.3

FNIS version is 5.5.1 Fix for the main one

5.0.1 for the spells

And 5.3 for creatures

 

I have never had issues before, I actually just recently reinstalled skyrim, but here are my specs just in case:

CPU: i5 4670 @ 3.4 Ghz with 4 cores

GPU: Nvidia 780 Ti

16 GB of RAM

If you're using HDT that alone will make a big difference. If you're using the newest skeleton it could help, too.

Plus I see Aroused and SoS in there, plus others running a check on nearby NPCs. That's most likely your culprit. Lots of scripts firing simultaneously because there are lots of NPCs around.

Have you updated deadly drain? And if you have, did you try the fix laggy player option in the MCM? Another really common cause of lagging around NPCs is a problem with your skeleton and hdt files, as in there's a bone listed in the config that isn't present in the skeleton.

I found out it is NOT Deadly Drain. But is there anyway to use hdt with XPMSE, or not need xpmse at all if I have hdt skeleton?

Maybe just update to the newest Groovtama skeleton or to try a different HDT XML file. Remember, Aroused and SoS run checks on every NPC in a given distance so that's gonna' bog down any processor if there are a lot of NPCs around. There is a newer, less demanding version of Aroused available (Arousal Redux IIRC).

Well I switched to Redux, and still no change. I'll perhaps look into a different xml.

It sound like the infamous "nonexistent node" bug. Try another XML.

I'm not sure if this helps at all, but just one single npc drops my fps by around 20. I have never had this issue prior to now, perhaps it's because it is on a separate drive? Yes, my Skyrim is legit, I just ran out of room on my main drive.

From a previous post, it seems as though you don't have XPMSE installed? If you're going to use HDT PE, you need XPMSE installed to make it work. If you're issue for FPS drop is a nonexistent node with the skeleton, installing XPMSE should fix that.

i have same trouble like this, it happen only try to get near some follower i just install suddenly got massive fps drop it just only me and her in that room. \

and i trying bring 5 follower to same place with diff body(cbbe hdt,unpb,7b,un7b,unp), dif skeleton bbp,tbbp,and hdt and diff texture like SG,Fairskin,mature all high texture and my fps loss not that massive than that 1 npc that nearly make my game crash. i think this was about the texture they put on that npc like all from toe to hair 4k or 5k or whatever. i found many followers like this make sudden fps drop just change their body,hand,foot + texture fps back to normal

Iv'e been locked in epic battle for 2 weeks now tearing into my folders like a rabid chimp fixing it. Iv'e got Skyrim back to almost playable. (The x64 bug has more "cures" than the common cold.)
