Three Bugs frustrating me.

So no Crashing this time But There are three issues that are getting on me nerves. 


 


1. Proventus Won't sell me Breeze home. - I have finished the Main quest up to Meeting the Greybeards. I waited till his 'operating hours' several times. No dialogue for selling me Breeze home. 


 


2. Amorous Adventure bug or Brawl Bug? - Najda Stonefist I think, one of the Companions when I brawl with her as part of the quest I get one or two hits then it resets like we never brawled or spoke. I got the Brawl Bug CE patch/mod didn't work. 


 


3. Jarl of Falkreath has no dialogue options. Siddgar. I walk into his Longhouse to talk to him, he's having a convo with his High Elf Steward (which is stuck in a loop.) And won't give me any Dialogue options aside from the ones added by Sexlab Romance. I got the letter to talk to him for Hearthfire still nothing.

Not yet. I did do a few bug fixes aside from the Brawl Patch thing. I'll roll a new character and get them up to the same point in the main quest to see if I can buy Breezehome.

So after starting a new game and getting to the point where you can buy breeze home....I was able to purchase it. The only difference between the new game and the other save is instead of Ralof I rescued Hadvar. So is it some kind of bug that marks me as storm cloak for imperial cities?

Not sure about the other two bugs yet.

Did you add new mods to the load order mid play? I couldn't buy Breezehome before either and attributed it to that due to load order change in the save.

I added some armor mods. That's about it. But that was after the Breezehome bug.

Sounds just like a buggy script then. When I searched for the issue it seemed to been a vanilla issue that sometimes happens. So I decided next playthrough I'd have the gold to buy Breezehome before doing the main game then saving it before turning the Dragonstone in so if it screws up I could try reloading to get the script to properly apply. I had Breezehome bought that playthrough before killing the dragon in case trying to buy it after becoming Thane might've been the issue.

Maybe there are some script bug in your previous save.


Try to clean it with Save game cleaner (you may have to disable all mods, save the game, clean it, load it again, save it, activate all mods and try to play)

Would the game even load with all mods disabled? Or are you saying load the game and then deactivate all mods while playing?

When you disable all mods you're avoiding the problem of missing master dependancies, so it likely will load and allow you to make a new save.

 

Attempting to deactivate mods after you've loaded a save won't help, you'd just be making another save with active plugins written into it.

The idea with save cleaner tools is to do a surgical strike on orphaned scripts while leaving the save otherwise intact. The trouble with disabling all mods is that you end up with nothing but orphaned scripts - not sure I'd advocate that approach personally. The good old process of elimination might be time consuming but it's the only method I've ever used that's helped me get a save back on track. 

 

I'd recommend Save Game Scalpel for this sort of work, it's a little less accessible than others but it does some nifty things like doing a sweep of your script logs and applying a filter so you can zero in on likely candidates for problems.

SGO? .....How...would that affect brawling? I mean Defeat I could see because it affects combat. But then again I did have an issue 2 installs ago where a lighting mod was causing CTD's. So what do I know?

Okay so after using the Scalpel thing....which I don't feel at all qualified to use....Proventus still won't sell to me...maybe if I take over whiterun with the Stormcloaks....
