I don't think it's an unwanted discussion, just not here. But I must say that the dialogues for SLEN are great. I've found nothing in particular that would sound awkward. As I keep repeating - immersion is one of the top factors when I play a game, especially all TES games (well, FO too). So, as long as I don't hear a wench in a tavern screaming "Jesus, you're the best" or "Holy mother, where did you learn that move?!" and things like that - it's OK. :-)

OK, here is the line. But, It was played very shortly and gone very fast: "You're so beautiful. Make me forget to pick up your line..." This line was visible only for 2 seconds and then, the new line showed up and stayed: " May I borrow the kiss? I promise I'll return it back..."

 

The exact line is "You're so beautiful, you made me forget my pickup line", it has nothing to do with phones

 

The pickup line you get for rank 0 is picked randomly from 4 choices, but Skyrim will always show the first line of a random set for a fraction of a second before it picks the actual line to show. Still, in the long run, you should get this choice 1 out of 4 times.

If I may...   This misunderstanding can actually lead to some interesting discussion about the language used in TES and in mods made for the series. The "pickup line" (a phrase that should start and lead to a romantic relationship), although really has nothing to do with phones, also doesn't seem appropriate in a fantasy-medieval setting. Or... does it? Do the words "fuck", "sex" or "vagina" fit in here? Does any word of Latin origin have the right to exist in a world where there has been no Roman Empire? Yet, take a look at Imperial names, or just the names of the moons you can see on Nirn's sky...

Sorry for this spam here, but I find linguistic issues in fantasy (generally, not limited to just games) quite interesting. (The tongue is for the smarty pants mumbling in this post, i.e. ME).

 

 

Presumably, since Tamriel has no connection to present day earth, neither would any of the languages. Looking at the names of people and places, linguistically speaking Bethesda borrowed from several languages, like Arabic or Persian for Redguard names, Nordic Germanic for Nord. The dragon tongue is possibly based on Celtic languages (a bit of a guess, I'm no linguist and do not speak a word Gaelic ). I think we can simply blame this on the fact that it is very hard and a lot of work to devise a completely new language, let alone training voice artists to speak it.

 

Practically speaking, it is presented in whatever language you choose to switch the game to (at least the subtitles are), except the dragon tongue which is never translated simply because you're not supposed to be able to understand it. So the usage of present day words is perfectly acceptable I think, since you are looking at a translation to present day language, not at the actual language that the people speak. Of course the concepts still have to exist, talking about phones in Skyrim would be silly, but I think every language no matter where from or how old has a variety of words for 'mating related' activities and items. It is after all the oldest and most important activity

As for me, the language used in Skyrim dialogues mods is more the matter of taste. Someone likes it modern, others likes it traditional, and other others might like combination. In my country, I like to speak my language grammatically correct in combination with modern phrases watching that the context makes sense. I always have in mind what type of the listener I talk to (educational background, cultural background, age, sex...). I don't use slang if don't have to.

When playing the game, there is a certain compromise (of course) that has to be met by both sides, author and the reader. Anyhow, phraseology tastes are relative. What is strangely to one, it is normal to the other. To me "picking the line" was to modern expression for Skyrim although it has various meanings. It's because I'm from other culture and the things that are quite normal and means one thing in one and similar cultures, sounds strange and means something else in other. Of course, I'm aware that the author of the dialogues can't have in mind numerous different cultures when writing the text. He has right to say things the way he wants to and it's up to reader if he will like it or not. So, in this context, I'm not talking about things that readers likes or doesn't like, but rather, what they understand from text and what certain phrase can mean in their culture if they are minimum knowledge of English speakers.

Therefore, I do not complain on the choice of the text of the author, just saying that it's bit unusual for some non native English speakers.

I thought I'd mess around with the NPC "You" settings.

Turns out just setting a voice makes him have no voice.

I set his voice to - MaleUniqueAmaundMotierre [VTYP:000E2FC8] and what do you know... he shuts the fuck up.

 

Still speaks normally if your char is selected as A1 or whatever.

 

Also flagged him as Ghost, now he no longer shows up in thermal vision.

Well, it´s true. It has to do with the free camera, but it was working perfectly with it before I updated to Framework 1.60 Hotfix 1 (used 1.59 before). And I really love the free camera. Had a similar problem with an old version of the framework as far as I remember. Hope this gets resolved again.

AFAIK it has already been fixed in the development build, but Ashal wants to get a few more fixes in before he releases a new hotfix. In the meantime, just use the hotkey to toggle to free camera mode, the problem only occurs when you have the automatic free camera option turned on from what I understand. I always use the hotkey toggle myself and I don't get lock-ups.

I think I might have found a solution, I found that my character never locks up when I have the MFG Console mod installed, but does 9 times out of 10 when I don't. And I think MFG Console was included in older versions of Sexlab, so maybe that's why it started in 1.60. which doesn't include it. I could be wrong, but that's what has happened in my experience, I hope it helps if that's what's wrong. :3

Hello I love your wonderful mod! I seem to have a bit of issues with Thrill of the Tempest 2 (Rumble). Hello I love your wonderful mod! I seem to have a bit of issues with Thrill of the Tempest 2 (Rumble). It gives me CTD every time when I shout.  But the rank one was working great before I upgraded it. I have your latest Sexlab Eager NPCs 20150825 (last update Aug 31 2015 4:55pm) and I'm using SL 1.60 hotfix 2. I will post the papyrus log if u want to check it out. 

 

 

There's nothing suspicious in your log directly related to this, but that's not so strange since this relates to sounds not scripts. I changed around the shout sounds on the last version to work the same way as the shouts in the vanilla game work (using voice dialogue instead of sound effects) but I'm not entirely happy with the results of that change myself.

 

I haven't had CTDs myself but it seems that often the sound just doesn't play at all for me. I'll probably change this back to the way it was in the previous version, since that seemed to work fine for everyone, even though it's not really the standard way for shouts. I'll release a new version within a week or so that changes this back and hope that will help solve this problem.

What the function of the level of difficulty in slen ? if it determines it difficult to perform sex with npc or determine it difficult to increase the rank lover ?

Cause already try lowering difficult to novice it still Hard to increase Lovers Rank, from rank 2-3 and specialy rank 3-4 (i have to bribe npc because always not in the mood and have sex 4-5 time).

And one more thing on new game all Slen sex act in not increase Sexlab stats Vag,Anal,etc it only increase Sex time, partner, foreplay and some other in Sexlab V1.60.2.(correct me if only happen to me)

I've pruned down so many mods trying to figure out the one that changes my own mod ("swordy") and makes everything in sight mean again.

Even Ysolda, darling Ysolda, got all self-righteous and stuff, throwing me out of her house at 1AM because she wanted peace (*Hello*, I'm your roommate?)

  I uninstalled SLEN and the factions are happy and dancing in the streets once more.

I read back a few posts, and SLEN does not touch factions, so it must have been something else.

BeamerM. - I finally decided to report one problem that is often happening to me recently, after installing SL 1.60.2

Steps:

1. Completly reinstall Skyrim

2. Installed all mods and latest versions of FNIS, SKSE, SKUI, Jcontainer, SOS, Arousal Redux, Skeleton XP 1.94, Papyrus Utility and all of their requirements, and having NSAP 2.7c version.

3. Started completely new character.

4. Then after several times when starting sex through SLEN dialogue the game froze and I got "Microsoft Virtual C++ is running" or "Skyrim is stopped responding." Now, I do not know whose error is this: SL 1.60.02 or Aroused Redux or SLEN but since it always happens when starting SLEN dialogue I thought I should ask this question here. I suspect that SexLab can be responsible for this, but not sure. Would you please take a look of the last few log entries of my Log file? Thank you.

Sexlab Sexlife. Set yourself as Actor #2 in the MCM Menu, and raise the arousal level of people in the room by walking around with your armor marked as "Nude" in Sexlab Aroused, or by using the Aphrodisiacs or Shouts from SLEN. Soon NPCs will be bothering you for sex, and if you've marked your character as a Victim just throwing you down as they please. 

Or use Amorous Adventures, Sexlab Solutions, and SLEN together. Pretty much every NPC is interested in sleeping with the Dragonborn, but won't actually rape you.

Finding a private spot will proberly not be add as the creator have said more then once that there are other mods that does it so there is no reason to add it

 

As for the orgy you may need to have them as Lover or high for it to work Not sure if that is right but that is what I had them on when it worked and trust me it does work last dragon attack in whiterun ending in a orgy between my char, Lydia, Ysolda and the Adrianne

I can't help you with your problem but can give you a tip for future search. Please don't be offended.

If you, like you said don't have patience to search all pages (sometimes most of us don't have it too), then input crucial word(s), "portion" in this case, into "Search bar" on the right upper corner, and make sure you selected "This topic". The Search will show you all post with input word(s).

I'm saying this to help you and the others to not to repeat things that has been said.
