slow loading .. and delays ? :(

Heya x

erm,

my game is running ok and fine until i went into a Inn and it took 12 seconds to load between clicking the door and the inn interior to show. so 12 seconds of the black screen and the skyrim wisps of smoke..lol

it also does this when leaving the inn to go outside. in the past on previous install there might have been a couple seconds but usually the transition was quick. i also found that when i went into the main menu and saved my game it froze on save for about the same time, then finished saving. took ages.

and when i quit to desktop, the game took approx 10 seconds with a frozen screen to shut out to desktop.

what is causing the long pauses please? The game graphically is fine and not lagging or struggling to play FPS wise, or so it seems.

fankies

12 seconds doesn't sound that bad. That's how long it is for me, usually longer. Actually that's how long it takes my map to open.

Open the ini editor in Mod Organizer (The Puzzle Pieces), scroll down in skyrim.ini until you find this set of settings. Set them exactly like this. See if it helps.

Yeah.  Based on your other thread it sounds like you're running Skyrim off an HDD (or possibly you're using one as your storage folder for MO).  In both cases that sounds like about the right ballpark.

If you have an SSD, use that for your Mod Storage as well with MO, so you can take advantage of the speed.  Unless saving space is more important.  It's always a tradeoff.

By the way, I finally got sick of waiting a long time for my game and saves to load and I removed a metric shit ton of mods and just went with a bare bones modded game (Climates of Tamriel, Texture Mods, PerMa).

The load times are gone and so is the lag.
