Is it possible to overload your game on armor mods?

I have about 100 mods specifically for armors (originals, conversions, and what not) and im wondering if the sheer volume of armor mods and conversions could be stressing my game? i really like collecting armor mods and just playing around with them and mixing and matching them on my followers but i will sacrifice my least favorites for more performance. Is it possible to impact your game performance by having tons of armor mods?

Thats depend on your spec probably.

Not if you merge them all into one ESP. Then it doesn't matter. :)

Well what im asking is if armor mods in high volumes will effect my game performance. Like how demanding are armor mods? id figure they are not demanding individually but with a lot?

True, but I merged +30 armors, and when I enter the forge sometimes I have a CTD, I think is a memory problem in my case, for some reason it fail on loading all the armors. Maybe it doesn't and an armor has an error.

But you are right, merge armor solve almost all the problems.

SurpriseFatty: Some armors demands a lot of VRAM because of the HQ textures, but you shouldn't have any problem i you have a good VGA with more than 2GB of ram on it.

Specific answer: No. Because armors are only active when they're equipped. Otherwise, they're just sitting in the plugin doing nothing.

Tyvm. Its good to know.

While you guys are here. Best nipple/naval/labia piercings mods for CBBE, UNP, and Sevenbase? I like the CBBE body but my 2 favorite followers are Shyvana and Serenity. Shyvana uses 7b-bombshell and serenity uses UNP.

It's even worse now with the new SkyUi. let's just dump 1-200 armors into one huge list, all at once!

it really makes me wish all armor mods were like the ones by DeserterX and you had to have a item in your inventory to craft them.

It is very good for getting equipment added by mods when they dont supply a container. this mod is probably the most useful in-game utility ive ever used.

no i havnt, i saw it, but thats not what i meant. i am someone that actually likes to craft my own gear, but sorting thru 600-1000 pieces of armor all at once is a bit much, especially if you dont know the exact name or spelling of it.

besides, that mod is too cheaty for me.

Having tons of armor mods that use crafting will lag your forge. There is an easy way around it if you don't mind not being able to craft, by deleting the crafting parameters for those mods in tes5edit or something.

Cycling through inventory model in crafting or in inventory could become problematic.

hehe i think you misunderstand the use of it. I use it on my "model" character to try out armor mods. Its not suppose to be used legitly. its suppose to be a cheat.

Skyrim (and Oblivion) has a bug that affect the performance when the number of esps/esms in Data folder pass 300-400 esps/esms (Not that this counts both the active and inactive plugins) since Skyrim does read up all plugins at the start of the game, and when the number of esps exceed 500, everything breaks down. No mod will work at that point.

So yeah, it's not a good practice to have 100+ esps just for armors. Even if you disable the one you don't use, they can still cause troubles later. The way to work around this is to use the Ghost function of Wrye Bash, or just follow this rule: "If you haven't used an armor for a week, chances are you will never use it again, delete it "

Yup, most of the armor out there are abandoned/forgotten by their respective authors, because once you fix all the possible incompatibilities and texture missing problem theres no need to update the mod anymore.

I agree, an outfit framework is great idea, but it would be impossible to implement, considering the current modding situation of all of the weapon and armor modders.

an outfit framework could have been made for custom armors, but it's too late now

did that to reduce the mess, one craft, one outfit

i meant on the crafting menu, bot once they are crafted, tho once its all crafted tht would help too.
