BodySlide2 problem

I decided to try BodySlide again. Did use it over a year ago, but now that UUNP is out and there are items for it I thought I'd give it a go.

So I installed it inside Mod Organizer. Seemingly all went well and I set it to run as an executable inside of MO. I chose UUNP and RaceMenu morphing in the options window while installing.

I launch BodySlide from MO and it opens. I choose UUNP HDT body and the slider sets show. Then when I try to open the preview window it tells me there's an openGL error and that some shader function isn't available. Then all I can do is close BodySlide. It stops working at that point.

So what could be the fix? I didn't have this problem when I used it before. So I wouldn't think it's a hardware issue (unless the Win10 upgrade caused it). Would it be possible to bypass this and just use the RM morphs? The morphs are there in RaceMenu when I go to make a character, but they won't work because I still have that fugly vanilla body.

Ideas, good folks of the Lab?

You need the latest version of OpenGL I think, so make sure drivers are updated.

Failing that your best bet is to pm ousnius/cell.

So I did find a workaround. For now anyway. I just didn't open the preview window. I chose a base UNP preset then went in-game and used the RaceMenu morphs.

But since I will need it to build clothing and armor then I must find out what my OpenGL error is about. I did try running it in compatibility mode with Win8 and that didn't fix it. All permissions are elevated so that can't be it. And when I've tried updating drivers I've been told they're all up to date (but I will try that again in a minute).

You can't (or there's no need to) update drivers manually anymore with Windows 10. It's trying to do all that for you. However, you can disable the automated updating of hardware drivers in some settings somewhere. NVIDIA drivers have an option of doing a clean install in the driver's installer, I don't know if AMD has a similar thing.

TL;DR, your driver installations screwed up OpenGL. Some AMD drivers and older GPUs in general have such issues, you can try older drivers or new beta drivers.

I tried older drivers and it kept telling me I didn't have the minimum requirements to use them, but I obviously do since I used higher/newer versions a while ago. DOH!!

So it seems I either have to go back to Win7 (don't want to) or I have to wait for Windows or Intel to release a fix. I also lost my HD Graphics Controller menu.

There won't be a fix. You will have to disable Windows 10's automatic updating of device drivers in the settings somewhere, then you manually remove the graphics driver, and then you manually install it again.

  • Right click "This PC"
  • Click advanced system settings
  • Click hardware Tab
  • Click device installation settings
  • Select "No let me choose what to do "
  • Select "Never  install driver software from windows update"
  • Click save changes button and exit.

Awesome, now to try to find the newest OpenGL that I was using before.

No matter what I do it won't even let me use an older driver that I was already using before. I might have to roll back to Win7, but I kinda' like 10. This sucks.

I did manage to get a Win7 driver installed that gave me back my graphics control panel. I was hoping it would include the OpenGL version I needed, too, but no dice. So one problem done yet still another to try to hash out. Now to keep looking for an OpenGL version I can install.
