Missing skin texture

i'm experiencing the following problem: after about 1 hour of playing the game starts to get really slow, and eventualy, when i enter to a new area, the skin texture disapears, and all that remains is this pitch-black character.

this happens everyting i try to play.

what could cause this error?

You need to specify a game and provide some information such as what utilities you have running (OBSE or NVSE and the like) and a load order. My bad

So, my problem is with Oblivion. I have the latest of OBSE, OBGE, Pluggy, and i do not know why after playing for a while, my skin texture disapear, and i remain with this all black character (exept the hands)

if anyone knows what is causing this, or how to fix it, please tell me. It will be much apreciated.

Make sure your using the correct version of obge and get the ini setup correctly.

not usre if OBGE2 has fixed, lastime it was caused by some dll added by obge

i got the OBGE from tesnexux, last version; as for setting up the .ini correctly..i don't really know how to do that

The problem persists even with out any lovers mods

Black screen sounds more like texture error itself. OBGE was more like flickering problem.

Did you use archive invalidation when you isntalled the mods ??

If not download OBMM (Oblivion Mod Manager)and use the option Of archive invalidation or archive redirection.

I am using OBMM and WryeBash. I think OBMM was set for BSA Redirection. I'll go try BSA Invalidation and see if that fixes anything.

Actually redirection is the best method. Does anything else go weird on you or just the skin textures? Is it just your pc textures or NPC's as well?

What type of setup do you have computer wise:

1. RAM

2. GPU (Model number and manufacturer and memory)

3. CPU

If it is just limited to skin textures I doubt it is a heat issues with your case or graphics card but it may indeed be a cache issue.

You may need to install Streamline and/or OSR (oblivion stutter remover) as both of these programs have a cache flushing device built in. Both can be obtained from the nexus.

This happens only to my char. No npc is affected by this.

1. 2Gb RAM

2. 2.6 Mhz AMD

The skin texture keep disappearing after a while. This is so frustrating..

Have you tried reinstalling the skin texture you installed ?? Maybe reinstall the body mod witch you currently using.

If it is only happenening after a while maybe your pc is not cut out for what you have installed. Oblivion is very memory hungry and does not use memory well either.

How much memmory does videocard have ?? if it does not have mch memory then that may be the problem.

If all else fail try setting everything to medium or low in your display. i know it sucks but if this fixes it at least you know what the problem is. Also turn shadow off it does not look right and will hamper oblivion playability in huge way.

I only have the MBP pack and XeoSP. I will give it a shot with lower grafics setup to see how that goes.

According to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:System_Requirements your card can't do better than medium settings for oblivion.
