How do I get this to start?

I've got all of my plugins in the folder and sorted using BOSS. However, I can't seem to find anything related to the mod while ingame. Do I need to be more patient or have I 'effed up somewhere along the way?

Unfortunately, you don't tell anything about the mod or the plugins you have installed. So it's difficult to help.

Make sure to start Oblivion with OBSE.

Which mods did you installed? Most stuff happens through dialog or randomly. You should also have a few new spells
