Backup copy question

If I copy my oblivion folder to another folder for backup, will it work?

The thing is I finnaly have game working as I like (took me days since I discovered more and more mods lol and more conflicts and was total noobs to any oblivion mod), but also want to try cursed armor. As I read cursed armor is not compatible with lovers mods, once I tried disabling lovers and add cursed mod, game kept crashing and didn't feel like trying more at that moment, however I screwed everything up and needed almost 2 hours to get lovers working. If I could make backup for everything and try to get cursed armor working there instead while still having "normal" lovers oblivion it would be cool.

Short answer is yes. Details on how to pull this off can be found here: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=8547&pid=171678#pid171678

I realize the question was asked about skyrim but the concept and process is the same. :)
